That actors have a hard time fully embodying a role and it's the sign of a real actor if they can play the role fully and completely? Like I wouldn't call someone like that a amateur??? I feel like you have to be pretty skilled to really feel a role so much so you kinda get lost in the character.
I've watched interviews of actors doing "Method Acting" saying that "turning on/off" their character really takes a toll on the mind and body (e.g. Marion Cotillard in La Vi En Rose, Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker). A lot of them falls into depression and has to undergo therapy after taking on such a dark role. While it takes a lot of skill to be dully immersed in a role, so does being able to navigate out of it.
