I mean, I did find him a bit annoying in the manga during a few chapters because he kept whining about being scared and I was like bruh, you have a Fenrir and an overpowered slime with you, plus said Fenrir’s shield to protect you (this was before he got the mini dragon). What’s there to be scared of? Take this chance to train your magic and fighting skills to become stronger and be less useless. But then it got better, so I kept reading. I didn’t find him annoying at all in the anime. I haven’t read the LN, so idk. How is he insufferable in the LN?

To me, the only "insufferable" part of Mukohda is his babying of Sui. Other than that, he's an understandable character because 1, he wasn't supposed to be transported in the first place, hence his art style is meant to evoke someone who's just a background character; 2, because of this greater accident, he still views much of the world in the realistic lens of the human world; 3, 2/3 of his familiars upfront say they're there for the food, so it's hard to feel like someone has his back when he's supposed to be their nourishment pillar. Even if they have his back, the ultimate reason why they do is because no one else would be able to feed them his food.

In the light novels he just horrible. Every happy couple he meets he tells him to die cause he's lonely he meets a elf at one point who likes him cause his food is new and hes Into her until he finds out she already has kids cause duh she's a elf she's been alive for years but then all of a sudden he's too good for ever even though he's always crying about being lonely. Then at one point he gets a house so he goes to get slaves to fill it with and asked the slave trader if he has any attractive women he can also sleep with and even the slave trader was like the fuck dude? He just gives massive loser energy. Like in the anime it's a bit annoying how scary he is even though his partners are so strong but I can get over that but he was so bad with all the horny loser talk I was praying for his downfall I had to drop it he got so bad.

Wow that is indeed a shock...well, so far the manga is fine and I'm good with him being not-strong-type character since he is designed as a cook not a warrior, and him having those strong familiars cover-up that part ...but having him being an ass in the LN, I can't imagine it deym, hope he stays like a good natured guy in manga and anime.
