He had to infiltrate the gang in order to start changing the future? What do you mean not join the gang? lmao How would he do things without connections with the people in toman?

The point is that he won’t give up despite the odds against him... literally what happened in every arc.... he’s not supposed to be able to fight he has a different type of strength ie a strong spirit otherwise the story would be hella boring and we wouldn’t be able to appreciate Mikey and draken’s kind of strength

Literally from the beginning of the story, him and his friends wanted to act tough and got their asses washed. So I’m not sure what convinced him he could change things in a gang when he knows he’s not gang material...

Because he doesn’t want the people he loves to die.... so he put up with shit he doesn’t like so that they can live.... I thought it was already made clear by the mangaka.... he asked Naoya to save hina but naoya couldn’t so takemichi had to do it

Ok but everyone else isn’t giving up and they can fight. It wouldn’t be boring it’s fucking shounen I’m supposed to get my strong mc. What has his strong spirit brought to the story except fuck ups. He LITERALLY CAN TIME TRAVEL AND HAS KNOWLEDGE OF THE FUTURE yet he just makes things worse every time (I will say I’ve only gotten to chpt 145). He’s not even asking any of his other gang mates for pointers or anything. Someone always has to save him..why

The one girl from middle school that started this whole shebang... to save one girl how many people have died thus far? How many lives have improved? To me it looks like he’s suffering for nothing

So in the end you just want a story like naruto or one piece.... but not every story is going to be like that... I feel as though there’s nothing wrong with the mc needing help from other people.... and if you don’t like it you can always drop the manga.... if you enjoy it despite the mc... the suck it up and move on

There’s nothing wrong with needing help but this is dependency. All he can say is I won’t give up and someone else always takes the fall for him being pigheaded. Nothing has improved in fact shit has gotten worse. I’m not saying he has to be the chosen one or super duper strong but nothin is being brought to the table by him. It’s because I see promise that I’m complaining or else I wouldn’t waste my time reading. I’m hoping as a character he improves.

First of all let me mention they're in middle school so they're all dumbasses and thought they were cool like that so yeah that was pretty idiotic. Second of all he didnt chose to get involved in the gang things again he literally got transported back to the past in the first place without his knowledge. From then on it was kind of his destiny to change the past and save Hina (and everyone else). If i got transported back to the past after hearing someone I love got killed and I could possibly prevent that I might be weak as fuck but there's no way I'm gonna stand by and let that future play out again. (What i just said literally sums up takemitchys character)

If I’m remembering correctly the first time he transported back he didn’t get involved with gangs. It was only after he came back and the naoya explained everything that he decided to join toman and fix things. But what has he fixed? He doesn’t even truly plan things out before he time travels he just say ‘ ah I gotta stop so and so from meeting’ and then he leaves. No brainstorming. Nothing. Not only is he overwhelmingly weak he’s not even smart. He knows he’s weak and won’t even ask for fighting pointers from his peers so he’s not even doing anything to improve. And the one time that he tried he was stupidly hitting a tire in a park.

Ok but you haven’t caught up completely... don’t decide it’s worthless before you see the whole picture

Ok give me one example of when shit got worse that wouldn’t have happened anyway without his interference and anyone who’s life got worse and didn’t deserve it but the mc isn’t trying to help them... I’ll wait

I feel like this is going no where and while I agree he should have done some more planning... I feel like you’re not giving takemichi credit where it’s due and explaining it to you is making no difference so let’s agree to disagree because everyone is entitled to their opinion none of us are wrong anyway

I've ways loved his character. He's so complex! I don't understand these people who constantly switch. Yes he's an asshole but he's driving the plot so just relax and enjoy the ride! Lol
