Psyche doesn’t deserve the hate that she gets, not one bit. Y’all’s hate are either unprecedented or just due to the lack of understanding of Psyche’s character. Yes, she is physically weak, but you can’t say that she’s the same mentally. Psyche was gaslighted for most of her entire life. She was dealing with constant manipulation from her own family and the prince just so they could obtain her power yet she was well aware of her situation.
When she found out that her “lover” was out to kill her, she never faced denial, she never had a psychological projection phase, nor did she displace her anger on anyone else (something in which even Medea did). It takes resolve to overcome all these psychological defenses, especially for someone who was sheltered from society their entire life.
This story is only at its beginning phase. Don’t hate on Psyche for only trying to find out more about Medea. If she waltz around knowing nothing of who she’s supposed to be, she’s fucking dead.

Yea I do understand pysches character... but if only she lived up to her words about her living for lady madea and pushing through it that would’ve made me respect her more... but then again it’s still on going so pretty sure... wait... no am not sure but hopefully for the updates we could see her character develops and not betray lady madea again...
(am still hating on that weak ass bitch tho...)
(might not hate her if I see that character development #-.-))

By “betrayed”, I’m assuming you’re talking about competition (correct me if I’m wrong). Considering that both of them are competitors, the only way she wouldn’t “betray” Medea is to willingly lose, and with that she would also have to willingly lose Iaros who (at that time) she considered her lover and savior. I get that to Medea, winning that competition meant a lot, however, this isn’t only limited to her. For Psyche, the competition is a difficult choice between “lover” and friend.

(Read my last comment in regards to Psyche’s betrayal)
Personally, I think betrayal between Psyche and Medea in the future will be impossible, considering they are both in each other’s body, and they need each other to defeat Iaros. I have a good feeling about Psyche’s character development. She is already a step ahead with her taking up sword fighting.

The crown prince was her lover and savior. Medea was just a good friend. She also didn’t fully understand how important being crown princess was to Medea but she was still willing to give it up if Medea had been choosen instead of her. She realizes her mistakes and she is honestly trying to better herself. Don’t make your judgments too quickly.

Yes. Though I do think you have a point with the "betrayal" thing. And choosing between a lover that she had always relied on and a true friend that she just had met. The choice was pretty clear. I was just pointing out that though youre right it appeared to be a "fair" competition atleast for her (Psyche), deep down she knew that it was not duly deserved competition-wise ('cause technically she lost but still won due to Iaros' underhanded methods) But she turned a blind eye and in a sense abandoned her friend. Of course for her own best interest/hapiness was always the end choice no matter how conflicted she felt. Just me looking at things objectively. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ tho it wouldnt be this interesting if it wasnt so complicated. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

“Abandoned” isn’t what Psyche did, it’s what Medea did. As shown in chapter 24, Medea was the one “threw away their relationship for the throne”. The impetus for the end of their friendship was the Nanny’s death, which was caused by Medea’s dad. However, Medea blamed Psyche due to the result of the competition, which was controlled by Iaros. As we can see, none of the reasons why their friendship ended is Psyche’s doing but somehow, she was the one blamed for all of it (psychological projection on Medea’s part).
I do agree that Psyche turned a blind eye. However, it was a competition. If Medea had won, she would also have to turn a blind eye towards Psyche’s feelings. It’s unreasonable to expect Psyche, who was stuck on a basement her whole life, to give up the chance to be free for a new friend.

She admitted that she broke Medea’s heart by saying that, but that doesn’t take away any truth from the statement. No matter how hurtful it is to Medea, it doesn’t take away the fact that she was the one that started ignoring Psyche, and that she was the one who refused to tell Psyche anything. So yes, here I am saying that Medea really abandoned Psyche because that is exactly what she did.
On the other hand, I’m not turning a blind eye, I’m making an argument for Psyche on a thread meant to defend Psyche’s character. I could make a whole another thread analyzing and defending Medea, but no one is making unprecedented hate against Medea, so that’s that.

Goodness, the way you articulated this argument is admirable. Your points are exactly the ones I wanted to make months ago when the hatred for Psyche was at it’s peak.
Medea is basically an unreliable narrator in this situation, so her negative feelings of betrayal, as a consequence, were also projected towards the audience. I admit that even I fell for the trap of blindly hating Psyche - but I took a step back and asked myself WHY. What is the motivation behind her actions. We’re they justified? Most readers take things as they are, and refuse to change their feelings because they love having a character for a scapegoat in these types of stories. Such is life.
Love how the author also told the stories of their legacy many generations after when they are most likely already dead. Many stories like this ends when the big problem is resolved, and not tell the readers what comes after which makes the concept of our fave characters growing old r really strange (at least to me)..
