I get what you mean and it doesn’t necessarily get better but the plot becomes more interesting I’d say read a few more chapters and if you don’t feel like wading through the harder to read parts then just drop it

Well, I read the novel a bit, and then the chaps got messed up so I stopped, but all I would say is give him a little time, it's because his memories are intact, otherwise he would have been a normal 13 year old,
But then if he didn't have his memories, the story would not have been created or would have been completely different.
But the fact that he is so low-key, it got on my nerves as the story went on (sometimes )
