ok well thats a game changer innit
also who tf is this black haired dude at the end

Are you talking about the whole cigarette thing? From what I understand, Gen used Reiji to do things for him. Reiji didn't do anything about it because he was going to work at Gen's dad's business and he didn't want to get into trouble.
Gen kinda seem to keep an eye on Reiji because he still cares about him in some way and also because Reiji was abused by his dad when he was a child, but he also doesn't pay attention or doesn't care about how Reiji feels as he's stuck in this city where he feels nothing but emptiness.
SPOILER but not rlly
so i read a bit of the novel and basically maxi doesn't knwo how to do anything becuase she wasn't educated and so she faces a lot of difficulties. she ends up getting back on the right track and stuff as the magician dude helps her out a lot. the only thing thats bothering me is that i read like 90 chapters of the web novel but riftan still doesn't know that she was abused. it would clear up so many misunderstandings if he knew how she was treated in her home and i just rlly wish riftan would rip apart her father but its rlly dragging on
I wonder if the author is doing this because #Growth? If Maxi is revealed to have been abused too early, she might be coddled, but having it happen after she gains some confidence and experience will make the moment oh-so-sweeter. (▰˘◡˘▰)
true that would be really nice but i dont rlly see maxi growing in the novel. shes for sure getting more used to her surroundings and becoming more comfortable but shes not becoming braver or stronger.
agh i hope she goes through some shocking revelation and ups her self confidence soon thoo
I can only hope the author is playing the long game with her development. Like, realistically, people don't suddenly get confident or over trauma. So, maybe all the slow build is meant to be more realistic and give her a firmer ground to stand on.
