tbf, if you didn't like it at all by chapter 17, you will not like it much until 40. now, it has been consistent tho and a few things did happen. but the tone is basically the same, only developing on that a bit, but nothing super major.
it is not a bad story tho, but it didn't change much from 17 to now, so you probably will feel the same. wait a bit more to give it a read, when they develop more their territory and such, it may be a worth read by then.
