From my point of view at least, she's hesitating with her choices and her decisions because this marriage she's going along with is something that the person who had never paid attention to her, acknowledged her now with this engagement. I feel like she has attachment issues too and cancel out her emotions often. (coming from someone with both attachment issues and abandonment issues)
Also it seemed like she wants to get this quickly over with it and be done with whatsoever, before she develop anymore feelings since she doesn't want to get hurt by the ML because of his past attitude towards her.
