That’s why, after their fight, Yanu’s affection toward Eyra surged, he finally accepted that Eyra could be his destined mate.
To add to that, Dragons can sense the moment a mate is born, I say “a” and not “their” because its not set on whose mate that dragon is. Thats why theyre fighting for Eyra in the recent chapter. Yanu was in denial because his senses this whole time was saying that the mate, or atleast the lingering presence was still in Solath. In reality, Eyra was in the Labrynth that had special concealment spells, the same spell Eyra cast on the hideout in the snowy mountains. Thats how Yanu realized that Eyra really was the mate this whole time, and I think thats when the affection reached 100. Before the part where they mutually agreed to be lovers even if they “werent” mates, Yanu was simply sort of playing around with Eyra for fun thats why his affection that time was only 3 even though they were flings, because Eyra ultimately “wasnt” the mate Yanu was looking for. I think theyre waiting for Eyra to have 100 affection towards Yanu before The two of them can be declared mates and belonging to one another, which I think will happen in the next or the chapter after the next when eyra sees Yanu in his true form, which we know why (づ￣ ³￣)づ
