God Richard is lowkey annoying like idk I've never seen possessiveness in a ML annoying before but they really killed it with this one. I freaking can't stand how childish I think he's still gonna be when there's a timeskip and not in a good way. He literally makes one friend and saw her as a pet and now has attachment issues like ?!??! Girl cannot catch a break and just live happily with her family. And just the way they can't do anything now because she's already been adopted after searching for her so hard like are you kidding me.

I think it’s because ML possessiveness usually manifests as aggression action or trickery. Both of those are fun or compelling in their own right. However, Richard is doing neither. He just throws tantrums or pouts when he doesn’t get his way like a spoiled child which I think everyone finds annoying. So I think it’s less the possessiveness and more the bratty kid bit that’s annoying

That’s pretty much what I mean. When he was back at the orphanage and she was a lizard he was using his powers to be aggressively possessive. I.E. Threatening others or the female lead. Once they leave though it’s all tantrums. He through a fit trashing the hotel. That’s not a threat to anyone. He refuses to join his family of female lead can’t come (not a threat). Female lead is gone so he sulks in his room refusing to come out. Not a threat. When you are being threatening or manipulative it’s a proactive power play. Someone in charge and shows confidence which is compelling. If it’s not threatening though it becomes a pathetic show of weakness and whining and nobody likes a whiner. A better move for Richard would have been to forcefully break out of the mansion with his powers threaten to harm people if they got in his way and only agree to stay in contact if they assisted while threatening to kill people if they tried to stop him. That’s a move of strength that is fun
WOW WERE FINALLY GETTING SOMEWHERE
