I think Jintae is mistaking hatred for love or he's just sick in the head (which he is) and so far it seems to me that Rohee is the second only green flag near mc. Except for that black haired guy in the flashback, I don't remember his name so.. I hope this helped a little
Jintae is just sick in the head from the abuse and the experimentations he was subjected to as a child. He only liked that one guy because he was straight forward about his feelings, so in other words that guy would tell him how much he loves him often. He said if Yisin would’ve done that from the beginning, he would’ve chosen him from the start. Jintae has always been controlling and had pretty much forced Rohee and Yisin to stay by his side because he didn’t want to be alone, until he met that one human guy that was jealous of Yisin’s relationship with Jintae. Once he met that guy, that’s when he was willing to let Rohee and Yisin go. But then Yisin killed that guy and made Jintae hate him. Why he started loving him now was only because he realized that Yisin loved him every single time, even after getting his memories altered and seeing Jintae fall in love again over and over with other people. Even when he ended up having a son with one of the people. And since he’s obsessed with being loved, he chose to stick by Yisin’s side now because like him, Yisin can’t simply die so he’s hoping for Yisin to continually love him. That’s why he calls Yisin his phinix or firebird.
