nope. the hourglass won't save her this time. And honestly, the dad was a douche, but even I'm not sure he deserves the level of a hellish life he gets from here on out.

Mielle will shriek that Aria did it (of course).
But the prince will teleport in and take her away from the scene of the crime to a town really far away. He takes her shopping and such and is sure to get receipts from everywhere they go.
Even though Mielle is left at the scene of the crime alone, she insists that Aria did it and that the crown prince "poofed" her away.
The father is basically comatose, so he can't testify one way or another. (he wakes up later, paralyzed and completely unable to live independently ever again. He lives heartbroken that he never realized the nature of his daughters: that his precious daughter Mielle tried to kill him, and yet the one he dismissed reached out her hand to try to save him).
When the prince brings Aria back to town, the act shocked at the news and Mielle's accusation. A trial occurs where the receipts from the distant town act as Aria's alibi and, of course, nobody believes the prince can magically teleport in and take Aria away. So Mielle is labeled crazy sauce and found guilty of trying to kill her dad.
It's been a while since I read the novel, but I think she gets out of jail at least once.
She repeats a loooot of really bad decisions until her eventual end.
Regarding the dad.
He stays paralyzed. He realizes in time that both his kids are heinous little shits. (the brother wants to take the nobility title and basically squanders the entire wealth of the family, because he's stupid and the dad can't speak to stop him).
Basically, his wealth is squandered, his kids are imprisoned and/or executed, his political party is essentially wiped out after committing treason, and he's even left alone by Aria's mother.
Aria's mother does try to take care of the dad for a while, but she resents it since she doesn't have any affection for him. She leaves him after she is reconnected with the man she actually loves (Aria's father, who has been looking for them for a long time, if I recall correctly).

I think it's a back story of what they feel after losing her and the regrets that they didn't protect her and know her well.
I think that the first timeline isn’t going on after she died, rather that (a theory) Nora did something in the 1st timeline that caused Shuli to go back (aka the “2nd timeline ) and the first timeline no longer exists

i think the first timeline did continue after her death. thats just how parallel worlds work. its the same concept with the story "orange". unless they have magic in the story (which nora uses if the theory of him being the reason shuli went back in time is true) it wouldnt make sense for the first timeline to just not exist. thats like destroying an entire universe.
