Well I've also just ready this somewhere and they said it was a spoiler.
Apparently, the king was raped by the first queen which is Blanche's mother so our cutie is not born out of love but- anyway that's the reason why the King doesn't like girls that much and that may be the reason why he doesn't interact with Blanche that much. Yes, even if it's not Blanche's fault that he was raped it would still be hard to look at the child. At least I think they'll have a good relationship in the future.
