I get what he said tho. Soonam want the sunbae to admit that what they have is intimate relationship with mutual love and respect. Meanwhile the sunbae want Soonam to see the danger of their relationship. If the sunbae stop supressing his instincs and let it took over there's a high chance that he would assert his dominance and hurt Soonam during s3x.
Since when do animals hurt their mates though? The females generally pick the male and there's sex for offspring. The females aren't injured during sex I guess it's because he's a rabbit so he's unsure whether to eff or kill him? The idea of sex and penetrating being a sign of dominance is messed up and very human.
The theme of this manhwa lean more into predator x prey (carnivore x herbivore), similar to Beastars (Paru Itakagi), Love Pistols (Kotobuki Tarako), etc. In some of darker mangas/manhwas the predator's instinct is to literally eat the prey (like in Beastars manga). But in this manhwa the "eating" part seems to be replaced with "mounting" . Altho it's implied that the predators who went berserk (due to damaged sign) killed/eat their prey
Yeah, I understand the idea of it, I just think the author has maybe taken on too much lore that's not fully thought through. Like our mc is a rabbit and a dog, literally real life dogs hunt and kill rabbits, but there is no reference to turmoil with his parents? He's half predator too but apparently only a little bit dog? Just because?
I'm not trying to shit on this story, I do get it, I think I'm being pedantic and expecting certain things when that's not what the author is doing.
The naturally impossible hybrids is a common thing in predator x prey theme. Usually the story would involve relationships between predator characters and prey characters, when they have offspring it would be predator-prey hybrids. For example in Love Pistols there are crocodile-big cat hybrid, or snake-mongoose hybrid which are natural enemies. In Beastars the main couple is a male wolf hybrid (wolf-komodo dragon hybrid) and a female rabbit.. their children would be wolf-komodo dragon-rabbit hybrids.
