Not a single one of us could do it better, so we're greatful for your work. translating such different languages is such a hastle, so I understand. If that person doesn't like your translation they should've just clicked off not fucking complained about it in the comments, cause wtf is that gonna change? Without you there are no chapters so, I don't know what their problem is.

Maybe if you used a bit of common sense it would be easier to understand. MX has zero obligation to translate anything, specially for someone ungrateful like you. They could’ve simply translated it for themselves to enjoy the story while we wait for official chapters if it ever becomes official yet here they are letting us enjoy the story as well even after they’ve been sick twice. You should learn to have a little bit more humility and empathy as well as not whine when you’re on a goddamn free illegal website to read all the stories you want. I’ve read some with extremely terrible and illegible translations and still I didn’t have the audacity to act like an entitled dickwad.

Please pay them no mind, they got nothing better to do with their lives than criticize every single thing that they can’t do. I assure you that I and many others have had no problem understanding your translations. Thank you for translating and letting us enjoy this story

@Fenneky: The OP isn’t offering any comforting words or kindly critiquing the translator to help them get better whatsoever. They quite literally said “I mean, why would you even post a translation, knowing it doesn’t make sense?” A) it does make sense because if it didn’t we would not understand a single thing about the story yet we do, we are all collectively able to keep up. B) You’re on a free ILLEGAL website for manhwas/mangas/etc. Where does the sense of entitlement come from REQUIRING a person who is not obtaining any monetary compensation(or any kind of compensation for that matter) whatsoever and is instead doing translations out of their own kindness come from? That’s just rude af. If they don’t want harsh comments under their very backhanded topic then they should’ve simply kept it to themselves if they indeed were actually grateful for the translator’s work, which they weren’t.

Also, translator never thanked anyone for insulting anyone, they’re simply saying thanks to those who are showing genuine appreciation for translating/typesetting/cleaning/editing and all of the extra stuff they do all on their own to provide us with a translation of a story

And I did say I appreciate the translation, but I just feel like, if it was reviewed it before posting, it’d be easy to see that it didn’t make sense at times. How easy would it be to rearrange words to make it a real sentence? Otherwise it just seems like a waste of effort for the translator and all the other stuff you do, redrawing, idk.
If the whole point of translation is changing the words idk that we can understand them, I feel like we should be able to understand them .

And yes, I understand the plot and the context like everyone else, but this was my opinion that I decided to post. And that’s my right. I was not nasty or hateful like a lot of these comments. But that’s your right too

For me, and I’m sure everyone else who responded negatively it was what you said [I mean, why would you even post a translation, knowing it doesn’t make sense?] which lends itself for the interpretation of “I don’t care if you worked hard on these translations because I think they’re shit”. Especially after the translator stated they were sick back to back. This might not have been your actual sentiment but it’s the interpretation it opens itself to

@Fenneky Lmao that’s so funny because, just like OP, I expressed my own opinion as well and you could’ve chosen not to read it either. By your standard you’re no better than me since we have differing opinions. Could/should I have not said “entitled dickwad”? Certainly. And while critique is not always comforting there surely are better ways of stating such critiques and still getting your point across. I already stated even before your reply what could’ve been said better because of what it has lent itself to be interpreted as, especially here in mangago where translators are constantly berated on regardless if they do a good job or not, if they upload fast or not. So yes we quickly got defensive in the place of the translator because their work is oftentimes unappreciated when the reality is that we’re all on an illegal website reading others’ work for free.

OP, I’m unsure if you have read my comments under this topic but in case you haven’t (which I understand) because I came off strong and even rude in my first one I’d like to clear something up, because it feels like I’m just talking to a brick wall atp. I am not gaslighting, if I did that I’d completely switch my stance and I’ve stated from the beginning what irked me, at the very least, and why, which is probably the reason your point didn’t go through well for the others as well. I speak for myself when I say I certainly wouldn’t have, because the words that were used initially lent itself for a negative interpretation such as that you’re not really grateful for their work. Like someone saying “I love your work but it’s horrible” It’s contradictory and easily misinterpreted because, as I said before, many translators get treated very rudely in this site no matter how well they do.

I had no reason to state what was it about your statement that didn’t sit well with me nor why, but I did (from the get go at that) because just as I’m learning from this interaction that not everyone’s criticism towards translators in this website is ill mannered, I wished you would see why some of us responded the way we did. For me at least, everybody deserves that.

I sincerely apologize for being rude. Normally, I don’t even respond to criticism towards translators but after seeing so many translators be berated over and over again I felt like your statement was just like the rest and it irked me. None of what I’ve said are excuses nor gaslighting, I’m simply putting my thought forward. If you’d like to accept it that’s great but if you don’t then that’s your right as well.
