YEAH. I write a lot of omegaverse fics & that's one of my favorite things. Whenever authors try to bring homophobia into omegaverse it makes me irritated because there's no logical reason for it.
EXACTLY! A lot of omegaverse stuff has some major cringe factor, but that is because it shows that if you remove one prejudice another will pop up in its place.
AND one of the reasons I love Sign is because it focuses on the discrimination of deaf people as opposed to the gay.
