I always think what is going on in the author’s brain when they’re drawing something like this
1) he’s his professor
2) he’s much older than him

The racing arc pretty much made their relationship stronger; it expanded more on the dad's past troubles, moving on and stuff. This baby is part of a new arc I believe.
