Well if you like a person, then its natural to be concerned even if you know that they can get through any problem on their own. If you care enough then you will naturally try to help and save them the trouble. And also he didn't spend enough time with her in his conscious human form so he doesn't really know what she is capable of. He only heard about it from others and now is seeing it for himself. It isn't a matter of her being a woman or not. Not everything is sexist. Atleast this is what I think. No hate lol.
