i think that Virgiliam and liam are different people. i believe that that little kid shown was liam because in a chapter before he was talking about his childhood or something and showed his kid self, which looked exactly like that kid. virgiliam must be his dad or something. think about it, Virgiliam‘a son (liam) was taken by the royals after they found out about his powers. they probably did tests on him and Virgiliam got mad because people were using his kid. and so he killed all of those involved in order to save liam. i don’t know tho, that’s just my theory.
