This group’s translation is pretty good compared the ones I’ve seen so far; just enjoy the broom as much as you can you freeloaders
The narrator also said in the beginning that the parents were speaking in baby tongue so the translation doesn't really bother me either. I just took it as a way of them being really cute.
The thing is, they made very noticeable mistakes while translating. Even the easiest sentence. For example they used "you" while the mc is talking to herself. Do they not proofread it? They're a whole group too. But alas it's still readable

I think it was out of courtesy so she didn’t have to go alone? Cause he was her escort in the banquets(otherwise she would probably be gossiped about for coming alone or not dancing with anyone.)
So whereas he saw the moments he had with mc as a matter of being a gentleman, he felt like he could truly be himself with the sister, who he was talking with a lot more comfortably,
His relationship with mc made him seem like the ideal Prince Charming, while his relationship with the sister seemed more grounded in reality and natural.
Doesn’t justify what he does, but yeah just my take on it
More on this- if by chance he did like the sister then going with the FL (who he believed harbored no romantic feelings for him) would be way better than going with other girls who would probably assume the invitation was a sign of courtship. He was probably waiting to see if the sister felt the same before trying to court her since he held high respect for her and didn’t want to push her into a relationship.

I’m kinda glad that apparently the parents died filled with regret because they thought it was what they said that caused Wisteria to give up her life(cause I don’t think they knew what bright said) like, they definitely were a cause, but it was really what bright said that really pushed her
None of them deserve her love except the sword XD
