the anime is wholesome and heartwarming because the producer was like “hey maybe we SHOULDNT have the main character be a pedo like the manga author wanted” and managed to salvage the work into something good... unlike the manga author who just ruined their own story unfortunately

There’s nothing foreshadowing a future romantic relationship, unlike bunny drop were he was calling her cute and shit. In this manga, all we see are the two’s growing relationship and attachment. It’s really just seems like Ruri is a mix of an aunt/sister to the kid tbh.
