I was already crying in the middle of the manga before she even died. Ofc I expected a plot twist but felt like I was cheated out of my tears.
You know all this stupid ass misunderstanding could be solved if she just told her dad to end this engagement and her thinking her dad would be stubborn enough to keep at it without thinking of his own daughter. She’s making the decision for him and all this is just spiralling out of control

This is a historical fantasy novel. Throughout the ages women have been forced to marry ppl for political reasons even if they didn't want to. I doubt her saying anything to her father was going to matter especially considering the father actually invested money into it. I mean even in modern times it unfortunately still happens #－.－)
Ik there’s probably some higher, greater plot points regarding her fiancé actions and whatnot but 10years of just not telling? Never defending her when rumours about your fiancée was spreading? At least if you can’t deny it due to certain circumstances, use your knightly duties to defend a woman. You’re bound to hurt anyone like that. Idc how sad the “truth” is later, probably so sad that I’d feel bad for that stupid fiancé, but I like her with Rainier batter. I like the clean look and he’s a better flirt than Raul.

To be “loved” but not listened to is just frustrating. If I was MC I’d kill myself a long time ago. Or kill them idk. The parents are definitely fantastically selfish where it doesn’t feel like it’s a bad thing but definitely is and I’m only on chp 6. I don’t want to imagine what dragged on plot that gonna happen. It already giving me a headache.
I was really supporting him to wake tf up and started grovelling in earnest but this feels so unsatisfying. He’s making an effort but it not any effort at all! He’s going around Nicole like a damn fly. This whole thing feels insincere.
Ik he doesn’t really understand how to love, him not wanting Nicole to go abroad is not him meaning to control her but more a desperate attempt to stop her from moving so fast before his short circuit of a brain can think of a better way to make her stay and make up to her. But he’s doing everything oh so wrong.
They need to separate first for few years so he can actually WAKE UP and make amends. Cause if this is the cookie cutter Japanese shoujo they’ll end up together nonetheless. So we need a good, like some real tasty grovelling arch here.
The confession scene really makes me want to reread the novel for the 4th time. They’re just so cute

I haven’t read the new season but I’m so happy to read the other comments about how all of past seasons of Brian and Sol is just Ian erasure. Like Sol wants him cause he’s Brian but Ian is not Brian as much as he is actually. He’s being fcked by both dragons past, present and future.
Both seeing an image of the past love and obsession while not actually seeing the present erasing himself to be someone he used to be. Brian this, Brian that. Hell nah.
My baby deserves to be his own individual. With his own thoughts, laughs, love, experiences. Everyone is trying to make him BRIAN yet he’s NOT. HE IS NOT BRIAN AS BRIAN ISNT HIM BUT JUST AS SO THEY ARE THE SAME. I’m just getting mad by the moment.
I genuinely want Ian to find happiness with or without Sol cause that man needs his world rocked a second time and find enlightenment. Because if he doesn’t open his eyes now he’s just gonna lose Ian.
I’ve read the other possibilities/comments but at the end of the day it’s 2 individuals whom are the same person. One existed and one has to live up to his own great past. I view that as unfair for the Ian NOW who was already shaped poorly by another that was obsessed with him from his own past.
Just one of my favourite novels. I haven’t finished it but I’ve always reread it. Diello is just a great example of possessive obsessive ML’s that knows how to go so far yet never too much that he pushes her buttons. Or if he does he’s great at diffusing the situation. He’s always almost in control unless it concerns her doing something herself.
