so idk why the emperor was trying to kill his family, but in order to protect him the mother asked the duke to burn their estate so he could run away & not come back looking for his mother. but he probably would have been killed too if it weren't for the her sending her father to save him (fate)
so i guess this is leading to something regarding how fate brought them together & they're destined to be together. my guess is since she read the novel & that isn't her, she is remembering the memories of the original owner. the mark is suppose to be a blessing from the gods right, so maybe the gods gave her a second chance in life. i think it might turn out to be that she really is her & was given a second chance by he gods, and was reincarnated to save him & get their happy ever after
