This is dark but somehow refreshing? No weird questionable fetishy teen/uncle stuff. Granted the 20s guy is young side but it’s not unbearable. And they both have a darkness to where it doesn’t feel like only one has the upper hand at all times (like some manhwa where people love glorifying one-sided abuse tbfh)
There is def abuse here but everyone involved has me raising an eyebrow. So I feel intrigued to learn more about both of their pasts with how violent they are.
I hope this makes sense to someone out there. Like it’s a different vibe than manhwa where it’s obvious Non-con but also fluffy so everyone brushes past the red flag behavior and rates it a 10.

I love Iodore’s look but bro is 100% delulu, and now his disciple is 110% unhinged and 20% inferiority complex. I’d kill for even one character in their palette that is just normal enough to stay in the main cast because their art is so good. The cobwebs, lighting, like damn we will never see this again because they’re acting dumb so Kayden will def have to scrap them. And other manhwa artists fr are allergic to every skin palette that isn’t ghost and egg shell
I did speedrun it but a lot of the pacing is rushed and skips vital details during chapters. The transitions between chapters are also sloppy. And the end of the story doesn’t really have a pay off. A lot of deaths are brushed over and not really given impact either.
The nonhuman characters in his team are generally likable but the one angsty mage (you will know when you meet them) is not likeable AT ALL, actually a terrible person, and was really just a nuisance start to finish.
I’m relieved that it’s over so I don’t have to be dragged along for 200+ chapters like some manhwa out there… but I wouldn’t say this was worth the time. 3/5 stars

I feel like people expect an OP character to just teleport and one-shot everyone. That’s mad unrealistic I swear the worst mainstream anime have rotted people’s brains. Dmitri is playing 3D chess, so of course he needs to mentor the next-strongest beside him.
And basic politics is that anyone carrying the Dmitri surname is also going to be expected to comfort the people with their presence. So Rodwell Dmitri has to upgrade as well.
