Mc couldve lived normally if people arent so foolish to play with nature. This all started with the scientists experimenting with the steer and it shows how far humans have come to selfishly achieve something. Mc didnt come into conclusion with this hatred so easily, he keeps repeating that this is an accumulation of the past deaths he experienced in which he highlights that deaths involved humans was mostly is a result of selfishness. Sure the rule of the jungle is survival of the fittest and he understands that fully, but he had come to realize that this character of humans, the evil, is something unnatural which causes disorder in this world and is affecting nature.
However what makes this story good is that in the end, despite his intervention, he realizes that he also causes disruption in the world. In being human himself, he realized that humans still have good in them and thats what stops the evil although not perfectly. There is still balance in the world. So the best conclusion is that he cannot coexist with humans as he causes more disruption to what should naturally happened.
Tho him being the world is a little lame for me lmao But thinking about it, maybe he is the consciousness of the world, and this is a journey on how he slowly come into knowing what the world is becoming.
I don't think the blame is on people experimenting with steer. If the project was successful and steer isn't harmful, they'd have a way to fight against cancer.
Just like how the story portrays, humans make mistakes and some are downright evil. But a lot of them aren't and we're all trying out here. Most species have to get rid of the sick or disabled because they wouldn't be able to survive. But we overcame that through trials and errors; or as you've worded it, playing with nature.
I think what we can take away from the story isn't that humans are bad or foolish, but that nature will take its course because it's random. But that randomness is perfection and it's all but a cycle of life and death.
I feel like this outcome is somewhat predictable, i mean her righteousness mixing with her madness. Cant say its right anymore given that, slowly, her reasoning is becoming muddled and confusing even for her but I just love to see that in a narrative. I just love how the author is slowly unravell the madness inside her and its interesting to see that.

What I can never understand tho is why leaving him is not in his choices. I mean sure everything went nuts but does the mc really love him enough to stay or is he to proud to quit his job because he doesn't want to give in to the injustice? Like it's not making sense for me rn help
P. S. I'm not downplaying his situation where he is being manipulated and isolated. I just don't know which one is it that's keeping him there now that the friend is gone
I agree but that’s just an unfortunate reality of many toxic relationships: sometimes there is no valid reason to stay with the abusive partner, however since they’ve shared so much time and energy together already, victims tend to develop a sense of codependency that deters them from leaving their partner.
In MC’s case, he knows that his partner is extremely fucked up and clearly toxic. The thing is, he views himself in a similar way. He’s pretty sure he’s going insane, he strangles his partner and occasionally instigates their freaky sex, and a part of him believes him when he says that MC secretly enjoys the nature of their relationship. Not even factoring the fact that they had a very close relationship when they were younger, it’s no surprise that it’s so hard for him to end the relationship ( ̄へ ̄)
And as for why he’s still working at that place, he said it himself, he’s been through similar experiences before. When all you know is something that’s bad, eventually you begin to believe there’s nothing else left. Think of it like growing up in an abusive family. You may understand that what you’re experiencing isn’t right, but there comes a point where you start to think “well, this is just my life and I have to accept it”. Sure you could technically run away or report your abusive family members but there’s no guarantee that your life will be better afterwards (in fact, there’s a higher chance that it may get significantly worse). In the same way, mc won’t quit his job because he seems convinced that he’ll just end up with another job where he is constantly harassed and abused. Though things may change if his partner is truly responsible for all the workplace abuse he faces.
Sorry for the yap session btw, I just like dissecting things like these ( ̄∇ ̄")
No worries with the yapping, i do be like that too
But yeh from all youve said, i truly understand how hard the decision would be to leave everything entirely, specially in a situation where the mc is manipulated to think that he is at fault for this situation (most of the time). Thats why i was so sad when the friend left cause like man the suffocation with all that is happening is bad. And ye sadly the narrative is realistic in some ways i cri.
Maybe as a person in the third perspective, its really hard for me to accept this situation which is why i vant understand. Just hoping for a good ending for this one, but as it is rn its very dim dhhshd.
I agree, let’s hope for the best ┗( T﹏T )┛
