The premise of the Guide/Esper genre is sexual. A guide has sex with their esper when they are at critical limit. In that episode it shows that he is at critical. If this were a salaryman/CEO thing, i would agree with your thought process. But its not. He needs to do his job

that's kind of...the point because hajin is not sihyeon. of course, these things will take more time to explore because hajin doesn't even know what sihyeon's life was like, so while he gets flashes of trauma, he doesn't know enough to conclude what the trauma is caused by, which is why it feels like a slice of life because hajin is making his own memories in sihyeon's body and erasing the past more unpleasant ones; however, when everything is revealed, it's satisfying, trust me.
I think they're coming back to it since they finally brought back Yun Isu and Daejun. ML will dig into Yun Isu and uncover his sordid past with mc (at least that's what I think/hope will happen)
