Being a couple has nothing to do with looks, unless you happen to match, are shallow and/or are trying to keep up a good public image
Mhm, people shouldn't think that they have to match up to other people expectations, if you love the person then love him/her they way you would want to love her/him. Don't try to match others! Ugh! Its okay to be different! So what if you're mean looking? That shouldn't change the way you are or how you act or even talk to others!
