Yeah, I read a lot of novels and mangas the whole day when I feel depressed, one of my ways to escape reality.

Anastacius and Claude’s relationship [Brothers]:

Anastacius was the firstborn child (and apparent heir) of the reigning emperor while Claude was the youngest son (who was hated by his own father). This was evident through their names since according to the empire’s law only the rightful heir of the throne would be given a name which meant ‘immortal’ which was the case for Anastacius; however, on the other hand, Claude’s name meant ‘crippled’. This was an act of abandonment from his father’s side.

Even after being the first child (and the only one under his father’s care), it was shown in Claude’s flashbacks that he was a doting brother. He used to be rather kind-hearted, and optimistic as he sympathized with his younger brother (who was abused by his (Anastacius’) own mother). Nonetheless, his personality drastically changes after he starts hearing a mysterious voice calling him.

As he grew older, he turned into a ruthless, deceitful, and sarcastic individual. His sympathy (or love) for his brother was long gone, all he felt towards Claude was hatred and envy. He loathed Claude so much that he went as far as to kill Claude’s mother, sleeping with Claude’s fiance (Penelope) and even trying to kill him. He mocked his brother for his incompetence because he knew that Claude was only a spare.

He grows to be conniving and starts experimenting with black magic, eventually manifesting dark mana. He was so obsessed with the very idea of being superior to Claude that he created a child from black magic believing her mana would surpass his Brother’s; that child being Jennette.

It is natural that Anastacius would avenge his brother’s act of rebellion. Claude was the one who denounced their blood ties and dethroned the feared tyrant (Anastacius). Though everyone thought he had ‘died’ (or was killed by Claude to be more accurate); he was replenishing his mana and waiting for a chance to strike his brother down.

To him, Jennette was only a chess piece, someone who’d overthrow Claude’s legacy. Since she was created for that intention, to begin with; hence like a puppeteer he played her; molding Jennette’s twisted desire to have a perfect family into a weapon that would make Claude meet his demise.

Other than that, due to being born with imperial blood running through their veins, it’s only normal to be involved in a struggle.



Anastacius and Jennette’s relationship [Father & daughter]:

Jennette Margarita is the daughter of Anastacius and Claude’s former fiancee. However, unlike Athanasia, she wasn’t born from love. Rather she was the result of Anastacius’s experiment. As mentioned before Jenette was the product of black magic, someone created to be more powerful than Claude. Nonetheless, because of the truth behind her existence, she was cursed.

From the very beginning, Jenette was born with the intention of making a weapon strong enough to take down Claude himself.

Growing up Jennette believed that both Athanasia and Claude were her sister and father, unaware of the truth that she was actually the daughter of Anastacius and Penelope. Being raised without a proper ‘family’ Jennette becomes hungry for love, something she truly desired from Athanasia & Claude. Unlike Athy, she possessed an overly-idealized view of familial ties, making her believe one will do anything for the other no matter at one cost only if they are connected through the blood. With time her belief slowly awakens the fear of abandonment in her mind, leading her to crave affection from the princess and the emperor.


Just like I mentioned before Jennette’s birth had a purpose from the very beginning, hence she subconsciously played her role in Anastacius’ game. Throughout the story (especially after his appearance) Anastacius has proven to have a rather have conniving and manipulative side. He is good at hiding his true intentions under the facade of someone who understands her. With his subtle acts of affection and blatant kindness, he molds Jennette into a medium to exact his vengeance. He takes advantage of her naivety without her being aware of the bitter truth.

Realistically Jennette isn’t a hateable character, though her naivety starts to get annoying. She lived a sheltered life but was still starved from familial love. Hence, she grew to be timid, kind, simple-minded, and very trusting of others making her a rather fragile character. Most of all she values her family and wants to be with them; however, her desire brings doom to the ones she cared about the most.


Due to her being born from black magic, not only is she cursed but she possesses mana that isn’t of pure imperial blood. Hence, as her longingness grows she subconsciously draws people to her.

Anastacius act of kindness is a mixture of the reasons mentioned below:
-It is his way of manipulating her emotions
-No matter what Anastacius is her true father, even if she was born from black magic
-Along with others her timid personality and mana rays are drawing him closer to her



Last of all ‘Who made me a princess’ or rather ‘Suddenly became a princess’ mostly revolves around Athanasia and Claude. Hence, it highlights the truth behind the imperial family unlike the first timeline, where Athanasia was ‘killed’ by Claude.

Oh man reading all that just hurt my brain~ when will claude and athy be a close family again, thats all i want!

I get that, the story is so well put together! Which in turn makes it more complicated. Why must the author make my tiny brain work so hard.(〜￣△￣)〜

Bruh u don’t understand it’s literally so well written- there’s like hints and foreshadowing in the very beginning it’s brilliant. Literally my favorite manhwa of all time. Each time I read it I notice something new. I do understand ur frustration tho, I just want athy to be happy.

U people need to read I said i "don't like family drama" i never say "the story is undeveloped" do u fuckers understand that what i hate is the waste of time on the blooded family drama because anytime there is fucking family drama in anything the fucking plot always get fucked up. Look we all know how fucked up family drama can get especially when it comes to royalty I don't have a problem with the story development in the past or present but IF the development is going into family drama I will have a problem and FYI I said the keyword "IF". Oh and some of u will disagree with my point of view because we all think differently and I respect your point of view but that doesn't mean that u fuckers can make up anything and pin it on me and saying that I am Unappreciated of the manga indirectly. LETS BE REAL IN THE PLOT OR SNEEK PEEK OF THE MANGA THERE WERE NO FUCKING MENTION OF THE FAMILY DRAMA , SO I LOVE THE DEVELOPMENT BUT WITHOUT THE FAMILY DRAMA. AND IF U NOTICE IN THE SNEEK PEEK IT WAS SUPPOSE TO DEAL WITH THE PRINCESS AND EMPEROR RELATIONSHIP NOT SOME WANNABES ROYALTY FAMILY MEMBERS THAT FUCK WITH BLACK MAGIC AND THERE IS A SAYING IT TAKES 2 TO TANGO, SO Y THE FUCK THE BRING IN THE OTHER ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS MEMBERS THEY ARE BETYER OFF DEAD OR FADED OUT FROM THE COMIC.

Without the rest of the family members it’s basically a generic plot and this manhwa is all about slow building. Yeah it’s annoying when a manhwa just throws in some random relative like ‘daughter of the emperor’ but this has been set up since chapter one which I think makes it good. If you don’t like it you can just drop it now and pretend it didn’t happen lolol. Your annoyance is shared though. I just want the Lucas and father daughter scenes TT

But...Rykell's disciple is a direct descendant from imperial family...
