i think she was considering how earlier in the chapters mc and astor sleep together in the same bed along with rion, after mc gets drunk or smth. Rion says that he shouldn’t be there because he is a man, yet astor makes no comment despite also looking like a man. I found it odd while reading but turns out my suspicions had some basis. I also think the translators got it mixed up in the past chapters, using he/him pronouns for astor.
So yeah the author meant for her to be a girl but the translators couldn’t understand this and thought astor was a guy.
