Lmao I feel so alone in being happy that she’s relenting. Like this is obviously a romance story and he has to earn her back, which I feel like is exactly what the story is doing. I’ve read stories with far more deplorable ML’s jump through less hoops to earn their lovers back and succeed. She at least has some semblance of back bone lmfao. I think yall just didn’t want this to be a romance

FINALLY
She’s also interjected numerous times to him of the times he inflicted harm. Heck, even if she feels momentary longing and interest in him, her logic of the situation and her pain of the past rips that away from her. That’s why she always chooses to at least hurt him back. How’s that weak?? That’s showcasing she’s not letting her rose-tinted glasses to return.
Plus I like how he’s portrayed as the master technician but fails at the matter of heart. Hence why he chose to taunt and reject her harshly in the past. He’s learned from even the beginning that no good comes from force and honestly their tale doesn’t feel like captor and captive as a lot of people describe it to be.
One thing I personally am a bit unforgivable on is the fact that he may have only wanted to amend bc of the loneliness that he felt without her (along with the pain and numbness to life) but that doesn’t detail how losing it once cause him to realize his futility not the actual yearning for the FL but at least he’s progressed past this for now

Exactly!! And honestly, I think it makes sense that his loneliness was what pushed him to want to fix things. I mean, what better way to force someone to hone in one something they had than by losing it? He didn’t value her and then when she was gone, he realized that he’s incomplete without her. Even if it’s not the perfect road to the motivation to be with her, nothing was a perfect road. This story is twisted and toxic and if it took him suffering in his loneliness to realize that he actually needs her, which then brings him to care for her then so be it. Not all love has to start from a place of purity after all. SOMETHING has gotta trigger the spark!

Okay but listen guys! He was shot RIGHT before he truly completed the last mission he wanted to. Yes, he did end up stabbing the dude but his death was decided right before he got the satisfaction of fulfilling his mission to Estelle. And THAT I absolutely loved. Like that’s exactly what he did to her, he killed her right at the finish line and she did the same for him. As he deserves.
I do hate that he has the audacity to be thinking about going back though, like you don’t deserve to think about that. Go die
Sure babe ( ̄∇ ̄)
