Well the beginning said someone who had been with her for a long time. The spirit king is age-less but we know it isn't him. Unfortunately, I think it's the guard. The author hasn't been good with keeping a tineline but even then, the guard is bare minimum late teens/early twenties. It's creepy when there's that big of an age gap AND they've known each other since she was a toddler.
I'm here for the saccharine childhood but I'll peace-out if he is the ml before we get to romance parts.
