I just thought, what if Lucaon turns Kyon into a royal in order to save him from himself and Edwin? I don't think royals can control other royals and Kyon seems to be set on dying to protect Lucaon, so maybe that will be the outcome. The title would take on a new meeting then, assuming Kyon stays a servant.

It's not that easy to turn a non-royal into a royal, Sihan was really lucky because most people die in mid-process, right?

Yes, but if Lucaon is desperate enough and Kyon is dying anyway, there isn't really anything to lose. Plus, Ryan and Cecillia are around and they are authorities among the royals. I'm sure they'd be able to help. We also know Ryan would probably help if Lucaon asked.
And, of course, Kyon has main character armour anyway :P If he dies, the story would end. So, I still say it's possible for them to try and turn him. I want November to hurry up and come so we can find out.

Serious question: why is this so popular? Is it genuinely any good? I watched the first episode of the anime and it seemed like another stereotypical action shounen, so I haven't went further than that. But everyone is hyping about it so I was wondering if the hype was warrented. I typically look for good characterization and character development (not power ups, or any BS like that, but actual character development) and character relationships and interaction (not romance). A unique plot concept is good too. I know it's about heroes and kids training to be heroes, etc, but that doesn't sound that appealing to me, tbh. I'll roll with it if the story is strong in other areas, though.
So, should I give this another shot?

I like it because it feels refreshing. It is a stereotypical shounen, yes, but this time the mc isn't dumb as fuck, the female characters are useful and they aren't reduced to love interests (actually there isn't any love interest among them), there is a real rival... And the mc isn't completely op XD (I'm thinking about Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail when I say that)
There are a lot of characters so not all of them are well-developped, but at the same time I don't think anyone is willing to have 10 chapters of flash back for every single character ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I would suggest watching the anime first, because its pace is better than the manga's in the first chapters. Then if you like it, come back and read the manga.
Clearly it's not the manga of the century, but it's not bad either ;)
And if you want a good ongoing shounen manga, please try http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/kimetsu_no_yaiba/ ^^

This manga has nothing special, if you see people excited about this you have to consider that people love the cliche, is excited by a good drawing and is pleased with things like shipping yaoi and characters with a nice design, the animation was good but the content of the story is the same as ever.
The female characters do almost nothing, as in so many other shonen and seinen.
There is no character development higher than what has been shown in manga like Naruto and in many cases is lower than this.
There are power ups from the beginning of the manga to the current saga and the fights are developed in the classic 1 vs 1 of all life, with the classic power of love and friendship, only adhered with a flash of strategy that more than anything is an overexposure of dialogue.
The world in which the story unfolds is limited to the city where the protagonist lives and to his school life.
The level of the manga is very similar to Naruto in its first part, if you like this, then you can read with confidence

All he people in the comments who've never read or watched a cop show....The cops are tricking Bum into a confession. It's the oldest trick it the book, along with good cop-bad cop. Sangwoo didn't confess anything.

Sangwoo, as a sociopath/psychopath would not out himself. Watch Hannibal: you'll get the idea. If Sangwoo ratted on Bum, he would be outing himself as an accessory. PLUS, that would go against what we've seen of Sangwoo's character so far and what has happened in the last few chapters. Sangwoo just adamantly claimed he and Bum are lovers in front of many cops. Going back on that or claiming Bum hauled and burried a body on his own and without Sangwoo's knowledge/physical help, would be highly suspicious (and would only give Yang more to hang Sangwoo with).
Officer Yang knows Sangwoo is a serial killer. He also knows Sangwoo won't talk. He also outright says he's going to trick them. I think it's pretty obvious what he's doing. The only question is whether it's ALL he's doing: there could be more the trick, maybe having something to do with taking Bum's DNA, the knife, and liquid sample. Is that part of the trick, or is he just gathering evidence?
I had to take a double look: I thought this was another dj.
Ikr! They look like kageyama N hinata..... I had to triple look at it lol
