They aren't translated in English as far as I know (the first one might be, I can't recall). But you can get the Japanese versions from yesasia.

It doesn't follow the novels. I read the novels. (Also I'm the translator of this manga). It uses the same theme/concept but the stories themselves deviate from the original novels.

Oh, ok. Thanks for letting me know. And thank you for translating!

Hya got his hair thingy from Senika, but in season 2 Ran has it lol Anyway, I'm glad I came across this. I love it!

    Miwa May 10, 2016 10:25 am

Oh, never mind. Apparently both Ran and Senika have it. Maybe cause they're from the same place? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I'm wondering where the Shinwoo and Ikhan subplot is going. It's been there since the start, but so far not much has developed. Could it be the next arc? Can't wait to find out!

Just a guess, but the "D" in D.Gray-Man probably stands for "duality", what with Mana/Earl and Allen/Nea. "Gray" probably refers to morality or the fact that no side is good or bad. It could also refer to Allen and/or Nea specifically, too; Nea being a gray character and Allen having both Innocence and Noah inside him. Anyway, I've always wondered what the title meant, so I thought I would take a crack at it. Don't mind me (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Actually, Hoshino confessed during an interview that the "D" in D. Gray man stands for "Dear"

Oh, interesting. Then I guess I'm back to wondering what the title means ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Ares ╥﹏╥ Poor Lessa deserves a happy ending, but I have a feeling it will be sad. I hope not, though.

So, if I understand correctly, the manga, anime and novels all have slightly different plots. Is that correct? I was hoping the manga would follow the novels, but I'll enjoy KKM whatever the case (▰˘◡˘▰)

The original work are the novels, then came the anime. The anime was based on and was similar to the novels all through season 1 and part of season 2. The end of season 2 and all of season 3 is anime-canon, meaning that the original author wasn't involved.

The manga stayed true (more or less) to the novels up till chapter 96. We don't know exactly why the plot changed. Maybe the Seisakoku arc was too long (the longest of them all), or too dark.

The manga chapters after 96 could be referred to as "the fire box arc" (since they're not in Seisakoku), and it's not like the novels at all. The setting is different, the bad guys aren't bad, and you can just feel the 'happy ending' approaching, whilst with the novels you get a lot of angst, a lot of action, and a lot of complicated stories that intertwine, death and torture (physical and otherwise). Amidst all of that the characters go through terrible ordeals and then grow. The growth is slow but steady. In the manga the growth happens very quickly and without a proper explanation.

Now, I personally like happy endings so I don't mind the manga changes, but it just feels so simple compared to the novels.

Thanks. Yeah, I was wonder why the manga veered from the novels. I prefer the original novels, but I liked the anime, too. And now I like the manga :P it's all good.
