200 chapters of ego stroking for the MC and little to no progress in actual story telling.
I am impressed.

No progress he says...
-The dark guild and sacred family have been exposed and are being captured/eradicated now
-A demon horde wave has happened and it has shown how different this timeline is compared to the previous
-The city lord accepted Nie Lie going after Yi Yun, and Yi Yun has started to accept him as well.
-Plus apart from Nie Lie everyone's personality developed as well.
What, do you want this to be like other wuxia manhua where there's a new "big enemy to defeat" and a new location every few chapters? Do you have that short an attention span?
Also, yes, it's a lot of "ego stroking for the MC" if you want to call it that. But all Shounen manga are that way, and manhua like these are basically the shounen of the chinese. TAll of them have always been teenage boy fantasy and wish fulfillment.

Alright. My only critique is... why do all the MCs in these mangas turn into nihilistic edgelords? I mean, based on the base behavior, it doesnt seem like the MC was supposed to turn out that way, but the author seems to lack ideas how else to differentiate the MC from the commoners (read: other hunters and people). - Its a very typical mindset that can often be found in asian mangas/webtoons: Might makes right. I have the power, thus the rules do not apply to me anymore. There's no development, it just happens.
Idk. It frustrates me, because I would love to see a MC struggle with his morals while becoming OP as fuck. Duty vs. Herrenmoral, cmon, author, you can do it!
Every time he says "Arise" I think of Dethklok - Awaken
