I think I get it. At the beginning in the flashback he didn’t want her to kill herself. He said “Endure it,” I think he meant endure being in that place while Max comes down to bust you out. We see how much he treasures MC so now that we know that I don’t think he’d suggest suicide to her. Plus Max yelled out “Wait!” Just as MC was gonna stab herself so safe to say he didn’t know she’d do that. Man... I’m willing to bet the dad went psycho after that... Since we see he defo wants the emperor dead. Anyways.... I’m loving the story lol. And I’m willing to be stepmom :))))
I came to the same conclusion as well and i just start crying everytime the memories of her being placed into the shadow room comes. I really feel bad for the original Juvelian cuz she always thought that her father never loved her and the fact that she had to go thru in the original story makes me sad cuz she is marked as a villain..

I’m loving this!! Reminds me of that one story of the MC who possessed the body of a disowned rich lady I think. And the lady had already abused her son so much so MC works to improve their relationship. But the kid is already like 13 so it’s not easy. Maybe that story will get an adaption too lol.
