But y'know what the kicker is? The crown prince raped her. She was brainwashed because he treated her "nicely", and she got pregnant. She thought she was going to live happily ever after with him, but the day she was going to run away with the prince, the prince was going to kill her. Then the head maid interrupted. The prince threatened the head maid, left, and then, the head maid told the woman something along the lines of "If I were you, I'd rather kill myself than live with this shame." Then, she did end up killing herself.
It was so sad, honestly, I wish the author included a little side story of him being tortured and castrated, then killed.
