The art style is so beautiful, but why is it so racist??!! It's so disappointing.

It's not racist it's their art style that's how they draw their art also I don't think they were being racist when their was floating underwear in the dark you can't even see a white person in the dark either when there's no light nearby, maybe the author is the same color but also is Korean cause there's colored Koreans as well or if their not Korean at least the same color, don't get butthurt if you don't know what the author looks like or what their art style looks like ಡ ʖ ಡ

ofc you cant see anyone in the dark, but the context here is that the author is using the same thing how black ppl were made fun of by how others see them for being too dark in their eyes. "maybe the author is the same color" nice try to pass this but not really a reasonable argument, whether or not the author is the same color it doesn't matter, if anything, if a same colored person made this, it would be an embarrassment not an excuse.

lol thats your answer now? that it was in may? this didn't update since april. we're still talking about the same manhua right? i just got here a little late to the party and wanted to say something about some unreasonable dumb comment i happened to see.
there's definitely some bias here. this is not an argument. i don't argue with ignorant people

Wasn't even butthurt but okay like I said before the comment was made in may and you have to come in and say some stupid bullshit which alright lmao it's like you know everything? But honestly you don't know a damn thing neither do I I'm just stating that the author wasn't even racist and gave my opinions on why the author wasn't which they aren't If they were racist they wouldn't be drawing colored people or a colored person with a white person, white people didn't even like colored people because they were racist being racist is where one color dosen't like the other color you could say that the author was sterotypeing wrongly torward the color people, alright I'm done now goodbye ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

Good for you for having a stroke (人*´∀`)。*゚+ honestly I would check my bag for how many fucks I give but last time I checked I wasted them on the people I actually gave a fuck about, and rambling I'm just stating opinions if you think this is racist then that's on you that's your opinion and not mine you have every right to tell me how this manhaw is racist and I'll listen, and I don't have to put anything in my sentences if I don't feel like it I know it'll make look stupider but oh well use your brain

What kind of logic is drawing colored people ≠ Not being racist, you know racist books/drawings existed for the longest?
If ‘it’s the artstyle' the artists would at least make some efforts because the contrast between the Nobel leaders who happen to show off European features while the commoners with stereotypical looks is not much telling. Everyone supposedly has a what an African person (or even African Americans) would be perceived as with big lips/nose/black curly hair/very dark skin. Then you got the majestic main character looking like a whole different race with white straight hair/ long nose/white eyes/lighter skin… basically more European features. so “colored person with a white person” hmm yes he’s colored per se but less “colored” when he’s that significantly different from the rest. So artists only wanted to emphasize on the leaders or…? fishy. Not to mention the history of blackface in china.
Now aside from looks. it's not just 'silly jokes' when there's lines like "His skin is too thick." that a mosquito breaks. This. This is reinforcing the bias "black skin is thicker than white skin" This same racial bias (along with similar ones) thats been used against black people in medicine to this day. To not listen and turn back to black ppl’s pain, because of this belief that they have some special pain perception and not give a proper treatment. This same bias has been used to justify how they are mistreated in the medical field as well as in slavery punishments. Information like this can be found from a simple search on the U.S. National Library of Medicine website.
I don't even know if i can say this is lack of awareness coming from the author, when they have stereotypes like these. That makes it even worse if it is because who would just start something without even researching. Seems like authors probably got inspired from that one movie and choose to implement everything they've been keeping on their minds about African people into this.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who found it cute when Taiya calls Tian Cai with different kinds of endearments like aHHHHHH. (。>﹏<。)
