The mom's situation was fucked up but it was understandable since neither of them bothered to talked to each other. The mom just has the wrong idea of what being gay is. And it was really nice to see the development of the mother and Kei at the end. It was very subtle but there.

Kore wa koi no hanashi just finished scanlation. Usagi Drop is also similar. There is an axed series called something like Kono Oneesan Fiction Desu (dont remember the name well). Tende Freeze is one too. I am not sure if Re: Marina can be called one, but its similar. If supernatural series where characters dont have appearance of their ages count, then there are tons.
