I think the author handled the brother to lover dynamic pretty well. it's not like they fucked when the pretend-brother situation was still going on, they made it clear first that kaoru now saw akira as akira and genuinely wanted to love him like he's meant to be loved. as akira said, deep down kaoru already knew he wasn't his brother coming back to life, and even then kaoru wasn't actually treating akira like his actual brother and instead an ideal fantasy of what his brother would be like if he wasn't fucked up over their parents' death. all in all, I don't think it's 'twisted' like y'all said. they're just victims trying to find their ways in the dark, and though their coping method wasn't the best, they worked to make it healthier and be the rock each other needed. it'd be actually fucked up if kaoru was still under the delusion that akira was his brother when they entered a relationship, but that didn't happen, did it? their relationship is fine yall don't worry too much about it I cried so fcking bad ugh Especially when i see snippets of akiras life im like offf i just wanna hug him he deserve the world and all the love he wants Hope that they can finally open, move on and let go of the ghost in the past and be happy with each other 100000/10 love the angst
