Chronicles of Heavenly Demon
I. LIVE. FOR. THIS. SHIT. seriously, this ended up being waaaay better than initially i expected it’d be. i’ve thoroughly enjoyed this slow and gradual plot development! overall great pacing and character growth as well. i appreciate the fact that the general ‘atmosphere’ has turned a lot more political as of late (as in beyond chapter 100) than previous chapters. at first, it was mostly about our kickass MC’s conviction and development, as well as his journey to grow stronger and stronger. but now, one or two seasons later, it’s more about his life as the new heavenly demon and everything that entails. not just the decisions he’ll be making as said leader, but also what he’ll choose to with this paramount, almost godly power he’s earned for himself. will he truly embrace the life of an antihero, or will he strive to become a more righteous leader like his first master? i’m hoping for a nice balance between the two, but we’ll have to wait and see. either way, our main man’s finally earned the means to properly exact revenge on those who betrayed and killed BOTH his masters. i’m honestly LIVING for the violence, y’all. (i’m not a psychopath, i swear!) can’t wait to see where this ends up!
Revival Man
heh, this is exciting. literally holding in my screams at 03:35 in the fucking morning because this shit is hyping me up like CRAZY!!! (i should most def be sleeping by now, lol.) this dude’s one fearless motherfucker and i’m living for it, y’all. (even if he ain’t!) this manhwa’s wicked in the best way possible and i legit can’t wait to wake up tomorrow and have another full-day binging sesh. quality stuff!!! (this is available for free on webtoon, by the way!!! head over there and support the creator, y’all.)
The Thorn That Pierces Me
wowzaaaa. this one was pretty wild, not gonna lie. quite interesting, too! creatively speaking, this was completely new ground for me personally. i loved the characters’ complexities, and i also appreciated the story’s unpredictability in general. at certain points during the story, i honestly didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at calix’s innocence (or ignorance, whatever). it was pretty fucking unbelievable, sheesh. honestly, it almost felt ingenious. well, it was messily ingenious, but i still stand by what i said. it made for something a bit more ‘unique’ in the spectrum of male love interests. i’ve never read anything like this before, that’s for sure. on another note: at certain points during the story, i honestly didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at calix’s innocence (or ignorance, whatever). it was pretty fucking unbelievable, sheesh. honestly, it almost felt ingenious. well, it was messily ingenious, but i still stand by what i said. it made for something a bit more ‘unique’ in the spectrum of male love interests. i’ve never read anything like this before, that’s for sure. by the time the story was about to conclude, i was still excitedly awaiting new updates. (i didn’t realize that the end was nigh… sigh.) things started to pick up the pace again; albeit i’ll say it might’ve been a bit late, knowing what i know now. still, this manhwa ended up being waaaay different from my expectations, but it’s definitely a good thing! it was great. i’ll admit, i was somewhat confused by the ending. it was quick… and definitely open for interpretation. i don’t know if i should be expecting an epilogue, any bonus chapters or possible side stories, but i think i’d be pretty content either way. there are definitely way worse endings out there. at least they all seemed relatively pleased with how things ended up, and that’s really the only thing that matters! it was bittersweet. :)
Royal Servant
i don’t remember much, but i believe it was either the first or second story i ever read on this app. it introduced me to the world of yaoi! i’d probably enjoy this more today, i think. maybe i’ll reread it someday. ;)
The World After The Fall
INCREDIBLE. truly, this is some unequivocally otherworldly storytelling. i mean, obviously the story was going to be fucking EPIC the moment i first realized 1) who the author is, and 2) that the studio responsible for publishing it also gave us masterpieces such as ‘solo leveling’. oh, and just in case i was a bit unclear about my reasoning regarding the former: this talented creator also gave us the work of art that is otherwise knows as ‘omniscient reader’—which is, by any standard, a top-tier manhwa worthy of praise and recognition. they BOTH are. anyone who knows what they’re talking about would acknowledge them with pride. the world-building is just… next level. it’s i genius. crazy, complex, compelling, CREATIVE writing. i’m obsessed. on another note: it’s been awhile since i saw a dude as OP as jaehwan. it’s, like, um… holy FUCK, bro. did yoo joonghyuk and sung jinwoo join together in a sacred act of the naked horizontal tango and produce an offspring of the highest caliber without telling anyone????? he’s so overpowered it’s INSANE. i’m definitely not complaining, though!!! no way in hell, lol. reading this is pure exhilaration—it’s just the best feeling. genuinely. P.S. undoubtedly—y’all have absolutely NO IDEA just how much i appreciate these random moments of comic-relief in the middle of all the chaos, lol. seriously, we have these god-like people with god-like powers fighting their god-like battles… and honestly? it’s such a massive dopamine-rush every single time, for real. we have a war that’s stretching on for chapters on eeeend (teehee, #blessed), and the minute a battle’s over, we get some weird-ass dialogue with our favorite characters to lighten up the mood… and strangely, it’s all so perfectly well-balanced. i especially love our main man’s zoomed-in, expressionless facial expressions, hahaha! it’s such a contract to the rest of the comic. this one really isn’t lacking anything at all, it’s perfect. i also appreciate the fact that things stay consistent—whether it be in regards to the art-style, the overall quality of the writing or the creative plot-twists. whatever it is, it’s got my blood flowing—that’s for sure!
Poyun
this is soooo good!!! i’ve learnt from experience to never have a lot of expectations from manhua in general… but this one’s fucking amazing, y’all. literally. i’m so enthralled. really looking forward to see what’ll happen in the future!!!
