The Pet of the Villainess Webtoon
bro, how amazing was this?! to keep things relatively short: i’m low-key obsessed with this. this journey has been so wholesome and endearing and beautiful all ‘round and ughhh. i loved getting to know all these lovely characters! it started out pretty dark, but things turned around at some point… and i’m actually kinda struggling to remember anything specific right now. oof. just know that i read this all in one sitting! well, i thought i did. i originally assumed the story’d been completed, but then i found out that the manhwa was being updated after some time. WITH. BONUS. CHAPTERS!!! (i love those, lol.) so yeah, sheesh. this is why i’m writing this review kinda late; i just finished reading the very last one! so freakin’ wholesome. and, for what it’s worth, i thought the story eventually reached a good conclusion, too. honestly, i wouldn’t mind a couple more bonus episodes… although i do realize that it’s not really necessary at this point. i guess i just don’t want to part from these guys, fuuuck. so much character development in this one... sasha’s just the best!!! seriously, she’s probably the one who grew and changed the most. rebecca’s goddamn commendable and admirable, too. naska deserves the whole wide world, and arth got the recognition he earned for himself—as well as our main girl! even the side characters got me, bro!!! they’ve all grown so much and i love to see it—well, obviously, heh. i’m a huge sucker for a good cliche, as you can clearly tell. <33 i could go on, but sheesh… better not. whatever. i’m going to miss this one. i’ll definitely be rereading eventually, you can trust me on that!
The Director Who Buys Me Dinner
It was hilarious! The only reason it’s getting four stars is because of the uncertain ending. Couldn’t really tell whether it was completed or not (even though it says so now, two weeks later), so that’s a bit unfortunate. I really did enjoy it, though. I’m quite a generous reviewer, that’s for sure, but it’s still true that it would’ve gotten five stars if it weren’t for that. I practically wheezed my way through this one. Loved the dynamic between the characters; even though the romance kinda came out of nowhere after a while. Oh well, lol. Still very much enjoyable!
Melting Point (Chamji)
honestly, i can’t remember much… except the fact that i loved it, lol. might reread!!!
ANTI P.T.
my god, i completely forgot that i hadn’t actually finished this one yet. i need to get back to work!!! edit: …i can’t believe i actually forgot how fucking hot the smut is in this one. the hell?! man, i’m already horny. sheesh.
Study Group Webtoon
well, to keep things (annoyingly) short… this is some seriously good stuff. i appreciate this energy!!! (this is available for free on the webtoon app, by the way!!! head over there and support the creator.)
Kiss the Abyss
y’all, it’s freakin’ AMAZING. i’m really glad i chose to read this one tonight. binged the whole thing in one go!!! well, all the AVAILABLE chapters, that is. just awaiting new updates now. edit: it’s complete and i feel content. <33 i’d guess i was roughly halfway through the story back when i wrote that ‘initial review’, if you will… so, i suppose it’s fair to say that things have happened since then. time passed, things changed, characters grew… it’s been an intriguing read, that’s for sure. and not only intriguing, but beautiful and wholesome as well. therefore, i absolutely stand by what i said back then! it really IS amazing. this might actually be the best manhua i’ve ever read, to be completely honest. it felt… full. and vibrant. which is honestly not something i’m used to seeing in chinese comics, not gonna lie. in any case, it’s been such a pleasure, and i’m excited to see more of this author‘s work in the future! 10/10 would recommend, i absolutely loved it. i’ll probably end up rereading it at some point, too. i have no qualms about it. thank youuuu!!!
THE Runway
i’m loving every minute of this!!! jian & hyeonmin have such great chemistry, ughhh. the sexual tension’s borderline PALPABLE at this point. (kinda was from the beginning, to be fair...) absolutely adore their banter, too. i never know what they’re gonna do or say next, and it’s entertaining—that’s for sure! out man’s straightforwardness is just so fucking ATTRACTIVE, man. literally, my heart’s been skipping more than a couple of beats throughout this journey. hyeonmin’s so suave. quite intriguing dynamics overall, really! i’m loving the emotional complexity, as well as the realistic depiction of jealousy, insecurity, marriage & human relationships. some might say it’s a bit messy, but as is real life. i find the whole thing rather enticing, really… it’s refreshing. i like the fact that we seem to be getting some ACTUAL emotional substance, and not just some predictable, fairytale mumbo-jumbo bullshit dialogue like we so often do. realistic dilemmas & conflicts, yet semi-unconventional ways of responding to such dilemmas & conflicts… well, at least in the world of manhwa. i mean, the characters may be unusually straightforward with their communication, but the story itself certainly isn’t. therefore, i’d have to disagree with those saying it’s a poorly written comic! i happen to enjoy this one quite a lot. (bonus points for the gorgeous art, too!) not gonna lie, though—i’m kinda amused about some of these readers’ comments and how continuously ramble on about how much of a walking red flag our male lead is, lol. i don’t really see it. if it were me in jian’s shoes? i’d LOVE to be with a guy like him! someone who’s keep me on my toes and give it to me straight. no manipulative mind-games, but crystal clear intentions. and this guy in particular? SIGN. ME. THE. FUCK. UP. well, i guess there’s room for improvement regarding his work-attitude... but everything else? cool cool cool cool cool, no doubt no doubt. he’s so hot, goshhh. jian’s one lucky woman! an intriguing one, too. anyway, it seems i got a little carried away. i simply had the sudden urge to express my genuine appreciation for this story! their private interactions’ even got ME blushin’. man, just get hitched already, dammit!! these two are practically soulmates, sheesh. really, if you ask me, they’re the perfect match. they belance each other out so well… once again: i’ve seen soooo many people comment on how ‘weird’ and immature these characters are, but i find a majority of the lot endearing, actually. and charming. sure, they have their moments… but it’s not enough to deter me. i actually like them more and more… the more i read. ;) it’s clear as day to me that this journey’s mostly about growth & character development. whatever the case, i’ll enjoy the ride!
The new employee
RIDICULOUSLY WHOLESOME!!! i genuinely loved this story. (low-key want to get the actual novel now, too, lol. anyone know if there’s an english translation for said book available for purchase, aye?) anyway. it’s a shame it’s over already, but it does makes me look forward to other future works by this awesome creator!!! it’s been wonderful following these two through their ups and downs. oh, and the smut was pretty damn great, too. #noregrets this review ended up being surprisingly short by my standards, but i don’t know what else to tell ya. for what it’s worth, i’ll definitely read it again at some point in the future. thank you, author!!! i live for the wholesomeness. oh, and i’ll be looking forward to the possible side stories mentioned in the epilogue. <33
