Cherry Blossoms After Winter

Complete | Bamwoo | 2000 released

rereading now as the epilogue chapters are being published ‘cause i’m really starting to miss these two precious lil’ beans now. i’m already getting excited. <3 edit: …is the story really finished?? these doesn’t feel like epilogue chapters at all, hahahaha! i’m not complaining, though. some of these chapter could be considered new favorites of mine if you include the manhwa as a whole. it honestly felt like a shorter season than epilogue chapters, haha. it’s been great! edit #2: it’s kinda funny how this story was considered a shounen ai until quite late, but now it’s one of my favorite yaoi manhwas on the site. the sex is SO. GOOD. top tier stuff. and it’s even more amazing how the characters still have their initial cuteness and ‘innocence’ intact despite all that. they’re so freakin’ wholesome. this has been such a nice journey, and i can’t wait to complete this story for a second time at some point. <3 getting to know these wonderful characters has truly been an amazing, wholesome experience!

Why Is it You?

Complete | Nansae | 2000 released

By now it’s been a few months since I finished this manhwa—about three months, to be precise—hence I won’t dive into ‘details’ in order to avoid any kind of misrepresentation, but I do remember enjoying it from start to finish. The art was great, the plot was entertaining enough and the dynamic between the characters kept me hooked. The sex freakin’ KILLED. ME. DEAD. It was so hot. Overall, I really enjoyed it! Wouldn’t rule out the idea of me perhaps rereading it at some point in the future. - - - - - edit: it’s now been almost three years since i read this manhwa, and by now, i’ve read HUNDREDS of yaoi comics. this one’s definitely not considered to be among the best ones anymore, lol. i browsed through the chapters quickly (looking for smut ‘cause i was horny), and, well… opinions really DO change. i mean, it’s by no means ‘bad’ smut… it’s just not as good as i made it out to be initially. their whole relationship felt kinda weird in retrospect, too… sheesh. anyway, i only chose this one in particular this fine tuesday evening because i remembered our main characters were (kind of?) a switch-couple and i needed something spicy to get me going, but ohhhh well. had to browse through another one in order to finish myself off, lol. didn’t really live up to my expectations, unfortunately. (TMI, but #yolo, man.) definitely wish there’d been more sexy scenes overall, though... so that was a shame. anyway, i know i’m trash. don’t judge me. R.I.P.

My Dear Cold-Blooded King

Ongoing | lifelight | 2000 released

the first comic i ever read and it’s still one of my favorites to this very day. ryusaki hayate OWNS me. (head over and read it on webtoon and read it there instead—it’s available for free and in doing so, you also supports the author!)

The Director Who Buys Me Dinner

Complete | Toisa , 퇴사 , Kenaz ,Yang eunji , 양은지 | 2000 released

It was hilarious! The only reason it’s getting four stars is because of the uncertain ending. Couldn’t really tell whether it was completed or not (even though it says so now, two weeks later), so that’s a bit unfortunate. I really did enjoy it, though. I’m quite a generous reviewer, that’s for sure, but it’s still true that it would’ve gotten five stars if it weren’t for that. I practically wheezed my way through this one. Loved the dynamic between the characters; even though the romance kinda came out of nowhere after a while. Oh well, lol. Still very much enjoyable!

Summer Solstice Point

Complete | yuju | 2019 released

I liked this one because of its rare realism when it comes to comics and such. It was intriguing to watch their relationship dynamics shift and evolve throughout! Not too much excitement; not too little depth. It was a nice, unexpected balance! I feel that it’s a bit rare to find characters who stay true to themselves all the way until the very end. They simply grew together. And I especially appreciate the way they both handled things respectively, too. Once again, quite realistic for a manhwa. (Or maybe I’ve just been reading the unrealistic kind until now, sheesh. I don’t know.) Anyway, even though it wasn’t particularly exciting in other areas, I’ll give credit where it’s due! I’m definitely a generous reviewer, though, so I don’t know about it everyone else… I’m not particularly difficult to please with this stuff, I guess. Still, this was my take on it! I’ve enjoyed reading a somewhat shorter comic for once—most of those I’ve been binging are much longer, so that’s a nice change of pace. (Let’s just overlook the fact that I didn’t actually complete this one in one sitting, but those are mere details.) I’d recommend it to readers who might be into anxious, realistic, very ‘real life-like’ characters in a generally melancholic atmosphere without all that bothersome, unnecessary melodrama to top it off. Just keepin’ it real, is all. And there’s that!
