man, i can’t believe it’s already been over two years since i started reading this… time sure goes by fast, haha. i’ve been following ‘golden time’ since the very first chapter was released (because light & shadow was, and still is, a favorite of mine), and i gotta say that this hasn’t been disappointing me at all. i’ve loved all the dynamics and emotional bonding between the characters, the overall character development, as well as the actual plot-progression, of course! the art’s freakin’ exquisite, too. i’m really looking forward to these two upcoming side-stories! (yes, this review is embarrassingly short, i’m well aware, but i just wanted to say that i’ll 100% be back for the author’s next story—whatever it might be. i already know it’ll be quality content.)

not gonna lie, things started out kinda slow… but it grew in me real quick, heh. i’m excited for this!!! edit: omfg. this is a turning out to be one massive fucking SLAUGHTERHOUSE, holy shit!!! and i’m seriously fucking LIVINGGGG FOR IT. (unlike the majority of these foolish, always-looking-for-trouble extras, lololol.) i’m embarrassingly weak to a good power-trip. honestly, i’m just loving the sheer brutality of this! maybe i’m simply sick in the head for feeling that way, but this shit gets my blood pumping like craaaazy. i fully expected this manhwa to be one of those wannabe-righteous, classic-underdog-morphs-into-martial-arts-divinity type stories... well, knowing our boy ‘originates’ from mount hua and all that. but fuck meeee, i couldn’t have been any more wrong. i never expected THIS!!! and it’s probably the BEST. POSSIBLE. SURPRISE. i could’ve gotten at this point. i’m so happy me predictions were wrong! i’m literally quivering just THINKING about the fact that he’ll eventually return to mount hua after more than a decade of being trapped underground (and universally considered dead)… only to have him return as this completely different person. (or possibly serial killer, i’m not sure yet.) all i know is that he’s a LITERAL carnage-machine, though. like, he’s basically a god at this point, isn’t he? epicccc. bet his old sect fam won’t be expecting something like that. 0.o either way, i can’t wait to see their reactions! it’s bound to be great. i adore this MC. i don’t even care about his violent tendencies. however bad this might seem, i still think he’s a good person. he’s just minding his own business while everyone else’s busy trying to butt their noses into his, sheesh. what a bunch of prideful losers. i love our boy. <33 (JUST LET THE BLOOD FLOW, MY CHILD.) edit #2: that was one HECK of a buildup, omfgggg. and i definitely wasn’t disappointed by the climax, either! what a showdown, my god. and the revelation, finally!!! i legit had to hold in my fucking screams at 03:30 in the morning, lmfao. soooo worth the wait!

well, i just started out (i’m on chapter 9) and i’m already super fucking annoyed with MC, lol. too early to quit, though!!! edit: this kid is the walking definition of a selfish, greedy man-child. what a bitch, lmaoaoaoao!! piece of trash, ughhh. i’m PRAYING for some serious character development right about now. me, a nihilist, is praying!!! anyway. he must be one of the least likable MCs i’ve come across this far. i mean, he’s definitely not all bad (i would’ve stopped reading if he was; he’s just immature), but every single time i think he’s trying to do something nice for someone else, he’s really just plotting and doing things for his own personal gain. it’s frustrating, but amusing all the same. i reaaaally want to keep going (because the story itself is quite good and entertaining), but maaan, he’s making it difficult at times. his personality’s trash, but that’s okay!! it makes things somewhat more unique for a story like this, i guess…? ;_; edit #2: i feel kinda bad for him. he’s pitiful. i just have to keep reminding myself that this dude is just like everyone else. i’m guessing many of the reasons as to why i dislike in is because i see pieces of myself in him. (and i actually detest myself, lol.) it’s alright! this realization has made things feel a lot more realistic and endurable. he’s just a person with flaws—just like everyone else. i respect that. stay strong, kid! nobody’s perfect. you can do it. :) edit #3: I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM!!!! that’s the kind of development i’m talking about, yes!!! super excited for more updates. this just keeps getting better and better!

INCREDIBLE. truly, this is some unequivocally otherworldly storytelling. i mean, obviously the story was going to be fucking EPIC the moment i first realized 1) who the author is, and 2) that the studio responsible for publishing it also gave us masterpieces such as ‘solo leveling’. oh, and just in case i was a bit unclear about my reasoning regarding the former: this talented creator also gave us the work of art that is otherwise knows as ‘omniscient reader’—which is, by any standard, a top-tier manhwa worthy of praise and recognition. they BOTH are. anyone who knows what they’re talking about would acknowledge them with pride. the world-building is just… next level. it’s i genius. crazy, complex, compelling, CREATIVE writing. i’m obsessed. on another note: it’s been awhile since i saw a dude as OP as jaehwan. it’s, like, um… holy FUCK, bro. did yoo joonghyuk and sung jinwoo join together in a sacred act of the naked horizontal tango and produce an offspring of the highest caliber without telling anyone????? he’s so overpowered it’s INSANE. i’m definitely not complaining, though!!! no way in hell, lol. reading this is pure exhilaration—it’s just the best feeling. genuinely. P.S. undoubtedly—y’all have absolutely NO IDEA just how much i appreciate these random moments of comic-relief in the middle of all the chaos, lol. seriously, we have these god-like people with god-like powers fighting their god-like battles… and honestly? it’s such a massive dopamine-rush every single time, for real. we have a war that’s stretching on for chapters on eeeend (teehee, #blessed), and the minute a battle’s over, we get some weird-ass dialogue with our favorite characters to lighten up the mood… and strangely, it’s all so perfectly well-balanced. i especially love our main man’s zoomed-in, expressionless facial expressions, hahaha! it’s such a contract to the rest of the comic. this one really isn’t lacking anything at all, it’s perfect. i also appreciate the fact that things stay consistent—whether it be in regards to the art-style, the overall quality of the writing or the creative plot-twists. whatever it is, it’s got my blood flowing—that’s for sure!

this is soooo good!!! i’ve learnt from experience to never have a lot of expectations from manhua in general… but this one’s fucking amazing, y’all. literally. i’m so enthralled. really looking forward to see what’ll happen in the future!!!

this one looks dark as hell. could be interesting! will have to wait for more updates before i start reading, though.
