Absolute Sword Sense
i just found out that this is a prequel to nano machine and my heart rate went up by 300% instantaneously. nano machine prequel!!! NANO MACHINE PREQUEL!!!!! (add to #1 on webtoon)
The Tutorial is Too Hard
ohhhh!! power-trippyyy. i’ll admit, things started out kinda slow… by my standards. but hey, that thought fizzled our real quick! i’m real invested now, lol. it’s like a combo of “the advanced player of the tutorial tower” and “the max level hero strikes back” and i’m definitely not complaining! excited to read more, naturally. <33
Return Survival
well, the art is unfortunately pretty underwhelming… and the storytelling itself is impersonal and unnecessarily straightforward. although i’m only 13 chapters in at this point, i’m feeling more than a little bit disappointed. nonetheless, i’m hoping for a turnaround soon! and hopefully it’ll include something along the lines of 1) a more engaging art-style, 2) complex characters with continuous character development, and 3) overall improvements in this not-so-intricate writing. i mean, it’s just messy and emotionally lacking. i know who our MC is, but i don’t know what makes him ‘stand out’ from the others… other than the fact that he’s thoroughly prepared and generally well-versed in the matter of apocalyptic realities—courtesy of his regression. man. it’s just freakin’ BORING. zombies and violence should be bringing some excitement!!! there’s no buildup and no sense of growth whatsoever. we were just suddenly thrown into a semi-strange, dystopian plot. ughhh… i don’t want to give up on this already, but i’m tempted to just drop the whole thing. i’ll stick around for 10 more chapters; just to try and figure out what the actual prospects are, but i definitely won’t be holding my breath. anyway, see ya!!! (well, maybe. hopefully... probably not.)
Maxed Out Leveling
it’s such a power-trip!!! shinhyun’s next level OP, man. isn’t he basically a demi-god at this point? a transcendent human…? i don’t even know—all i really do know is that i’m still soooo fucking weak to this trope, lol. CLEARLY. not gonna lie, this is a lot better than i expected it to be. just the art itself is nearly freakin’ flawless! i’m absolutely LIVING for these ‘solo leveling’ and ‘descent of the demonic master’ vibes. i mean, although the stories are completely different in their own unique ways, they’re still quite similar in other aspects. (quite paradoxical, i know.) nonetheless, i do appreciate this ‘modern-game-like-reality’ and ‘old-murim-martial-arts’ combo… in which he has to master yet ANOTHER fighting style (besides murim martial arts) in order to become a true dungeon-raiding hunter after his return to modern society. i’ve never before seen a manhwa where the MC’s leveling up through two different systems, though... so that’s quite refreshing! knowing that this is another first for me makes me feel all kinds excited for reasons i don’t really know how to explain, haha. i mean, we literally get to see a near-transcendent martial arts god (?) master a completely different element in another era in order to grow as a hunter!!! who wouldn’t enjoy that? honestly, i have no real idea as to what i ought to expect from this plot-wise, though—given that his murim stats have literally been maxed out since chapter one. technically speaking, he’s still pretty much invincible. does that mean he’ll become double-invincible? lololol, can’t wait.
Barbarian Quest
ughhh, this boy is fiiiine. i’ll be honest, i didn’t think i’d enjoy this one initially... (don’t know why i’m so presumptuous about these goddamn comics, sheesh. they’re literally ALWAYS good.) in any case, this manhwa grew on me surprisingly quickly!!! i think it’s pretty fucking great, not gonna lie. i’m loving the violence—as well as the carnage said violence leaves behind in its wake. god, it’s brutal. i’m obsessed. and this is exactly what i wanted tonight! (i’m not a sadistic psychopath, i swear!!!) for what it’s worth, i’m super excited to continue reading! i have no idea what’ll happen (since it’s both eerily and pleasantly unpredictable), but i’m absolutely certain that it’ll be good whichever direction it takes! also, the art is fucking EXQUISITE. :)
Player From Today Onwards
i love this!!! this genre ALWYAS slaps, y’all. i’m really excited for the future of this manhwa. <33
Trash of the Count's Family
this is so good!!! edit: lmao, this guy is seriously funny. his apathetic, indifferent personality fascinates me. and this story’s PACKED with other intriguing characters, too! in case it wasn’t already obvious, i especially love cale!!! he’s such a cunning savage, lol. i’m very much looking forward to future chapters and to find out where all this is going. <33 edit: can’t believe this is all the commentary i’ve left thus far. what an embarrassment… this is HIGH. QUALITY. WRITING. and despite my lack of depth in this poor excuse of a review, just know that it’s absolutely worth the read!
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint
i’m loving this. really creative and unpredictable, can’t wait to see what’ll happen! i mean… it’s ridiculous how freakin’ epic this is. frankly speaking, i’m borderline obsessed at this point, lol. this damn quality… it’s basically graphic novel paradise, really. y’all would be crazy not to check this out. edit: bro, it’s basically scripture at this point. i can’t. ;–; (this is available on the webtoon app for free, by the way!!! head over there and support the creator.) edit: WORDS. CANNOT. EXPRESS. HOW. GOOD. THIS. STORY. IS. that shitty excuse of a review doesn’t even scratch the surface. it’s intelligent. intrinsic. COMPLEX. this is simply one of those stories which cannot be overlooked, and it certainly deserve a MUCH better review than the one i just gave you. seriously, it’s an embarrassment. there’s so, soooo much more i could say about its greatness, creativity and overall quality… but my brain’s not really “braining” these days, so i’m gonna have to take a raincheck on that.
