My Dear Cold-Blooded King
the first comic i ever read and it’s still one of my favorites to this very day. ryusaki hayate OWNS me. (head over and read it on webtoon and read it there instead—it’s available for free and in doing so, you also supports the author!)
I’ll be Taking a Break for Personal Reasons
LMFAO!!! this is WILD, y’all. i’m loving the chaotic energy flowing around here. also, i really appreciate the unpredictability of both the plot and characters! i’ve been laughing like a crazy person all morning as well, it’s hysterically funny at times. man, what a hidden gem! i’ll definitely be looking forward to reading more of this one. i have noooo idea what to expect. though, but i suppose that’s part of its charm!
The Chaebeol’s Youngest Son
bruuuh. one chapter in and this one’s already got me feeling me hundreds different kinds of excitement for reasons i don’t even understand myself yet. this one’s bound to be EPIC—there’s no refuting that. *deep inhale* a young, brilliant, soon-to-be ruthless conglomerate aiming to rule modern capitalist society after being sent back 30 years in time in the body of a child belonging to the family he used to ‘serve’ (in which said family was ALSO responsible for his death before his surprise-regression) and now he’s out for blood and he’s exacting vengeance by taking over the global, economical and political markets using his intelligence, genius, tenacity and insights—as well as the knowledge he retained in his first life, but being a complete, utter BADASS while doing so??? *exhales* SIGN. ME. TF. UUUUP. man, i’m so fucking ready for another intellectual power-trip if the times, you have no idea… hahahaha
Hero Killer
Jungle Juice
My Family is Obsessed with Me
ughhh, so freakin’ wholesome.
Golden Time (Ryu Hyang)
man, i can’t believe it’s already been over two years since i started reading this… time sure goes by fast, haha. i’ve been following ‘golden time’ since the very first chapter was released (because light & shadow was, and still is, a favorite of mine), and i gotta say that this hasn’t been disappointing me at all. i’ve loved all the dynamics and emotional bonding between the characters, the overall character development, as well as the actual plot-progression, of course! the art’s freakin’ exquisite, too. i’m really looking forward to these two upcoming side-stories! (yes, this review is embarrassingly short, i’m well aware, but i just wanted to say that i’ll 100% be back for the author’s next story—whatever it might be. i already know it’ll be quality content.)
Moon-Shadow Sword Emperor
ohhh. definitely an adequate take on the whole ‘historical-eastern-asian-martial-arts’ trope. it’s pretty good! would i say it’s ingenious writing? no. will it make it onto my list of manhwa favorites? it won’t. however, i definitely don’t feel like it’s a waste of time or anything of the sort! still, i doubt i’d choose to reread it based on what i’ve seen up until this point. :) but hey, who knows? the tide could always change. it’s happened before! P.S. i AM looking forward to the day when he’ll finally be able to get his revenge, though. ^^
Perfect Surgeon
i really like this, and i’m low-key ECSTATIC about the fact that he’s actually putting in the effort himself—not simply relying on ronnie’s omniscience to succeed. it’d be amazing if he turns out to be an actual medical genius! i mean, i guess we’ve kind of already established that… but still, lol. man, i’m so weak for stories like these. <3 i’m seriously fucking obsessed with this trope. KING!!!!! if every doctor thought, reasoned & behaved the way he does, the world might’ve actually been somewhat of a good place. inspiring, really! what makes the whole ordeal even more enthralling is being able to actually firsthand WITNESS (!!!) just how upstanding and righteous jang hyunjun truly is. so much integrity!!! and in the best way, too. i quite admire his drive. honestly, this is the kind of excitement i need and want more of. as a bonus, i’m learning so many new things while reading, too! it might be a fictional story, but it’s still educational and eye-opening in many ways. it’s pretty great, heh.
