Ni Yu: God is a Girl
The art is quite good in this webtoon, it's above average for me. I like the look of the female lead, she's very distinctive. She's very smart and strong, and isn't easily fooled by scheming officials. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her. I only wish they did a better job depicting her as an actual person, rather than some revered object who rules the country, since I don't have a good sense of her personality, or her emotional connections. There's not much to show her inner thoughts, so it's hard to follow her character. It's funny they say women can't rule because they're too emotional, but I actually think she lacks emotion.
Pomegranate Blooms in Spring
It's alright. Art is average, not great. Female lead randomly has two dots on her face that bother me. Personality is rather boring, I know she is a child but there's nothing worth investing emotionally in her at the moment. Not much plot or conflict yet.
The Banished Villainess! Living the Leisurely Life of a Nun Making Revolutionary Church Food
Female lead is reincarnated into a villainess, who is quickly banished to live as a nun, but she enjoys her new carefree life. Instead of despairing, she starts to cook modern Japanese food for the villagers. All is well until key characters from her villainess life reappear in the monastery she is living in, making her life more complicated once again. It's pretty decent, although weird and nonsensical at times. None of the characters are too stand-out though, so it's mostly forgettable. There isn't much of a plot going on, either.
A Kind Goblin's Bird
Webtoon where a girl who's abused by her parents gets discovered by a man in a goblin mask. Art is quite good, but I am not too fond of the plot right now. It doesn't make sense why the prince would take interest in her, and help her out of her current situation. We'll have to see if it gets better, but I feel like the art is wasted on this bad story so far. Update: Lore is utter nonsense about twins and goblins, sort of like changelings but slightly different. Each chapter is a waste of time to read. Just the two main characters being sickly lovey-dovey to each other, and nothing else happening. Update #2: Well, that escalated quickly in the end. Made no sense, and characters didn't earn their happy ending.
I Worked Myself to Death and Reincarnated as the Queen of His Majesty, Who is Younger than Me!
This manga is funny, it attempts to subvert isekai tropes in a unique way. The female lead died from overwork, and reincarnated inside a coffin, and it turns out everyone in this new world can use magic, including her husband, the king. The king immediately figures out that she's been isekai'd to his world and threatens her, when suddenly, the ghost of the body she's in also appears and they fight. LOL. Hoping for more goodness soon, can't wait to see what they come up with next.
I Raised Cinderella Preciously
Trying to bring a new twist to the both tired genres of Cinderella and isekai stories, the female lead ends up reincarnated as the evil stepmother. But this time, she's going to raise all her kids right, including Cinderella, yay~ Although it sounded interesting at first, I feel the execution is severely lacking. There's too much thinking going on in the female lead's part and nothing happening. Seriously, almost every panel is filled with her thoughts. I don't care for any of the characters, they're all bland and don't stand out. I am not getting any personality from any of them, even the main character, since she thinks too much and doesn't do anything. She's too passive and it's boring. Sigh. The art is ok, but nothing great. The daughters are ugly compared to the stepmother and Cinderella, which sucks. They don't question their mother's sudden change in attitude at all. The names are incredibly stupid. We have Mildred, Sandra, Iris, Lily, Ashley, Gary, and Fred. Like the most uncreative names ever....
31st Consort
It started off promising, but just lags in the recent chapters. I find the idea of having 31 consorts really stupid, since it's not like they will all be prominent characters. Just come up with a couple and have them compete so we'll get to know them better. I really hate it when authors make up a huge number for the sake of huge numbers and put no thought towards execution. As I suspected, only about three consorts are important, other than the main character consort candidate. She's like a bright, cheery, nothing-will-get-her-down type character, and it was ok at first, but now it's boring since she hasn't really been challenged. Everything comes too easily to her and it's not fun to read about. The king almost immediately falls in love with her, and she with him. Sigh.
His Highness Discovered I’m a Woman!
It's a cliched shoujo set up where the female lead falls in love with a man while she's dressed as a boy. I only wish she was a stronger character, since she keeps making mistakes and got discovered way too quickly. It's not bad, and the art is quite nice. It's like a 3.5 for me. Basically it works, but it's been done lots of times before in stories, and better, too.
