How to Change a Path Full of Thorns into One Full of Happiness
This promotional webtoon did a poor job introducing the characters. I don't know who anyone is, and who is even the main character? I'm guessing it's the girl called Karne, but is she also the naked woman in the beginning? Is the blond man from the beginning also the guy at the end of the chapter? What the heck? The art below average, using blurring to be lazy, instead of properly drawing out stuff. I don't know what the plot is besides some rag-to-riches type thing, and that's not compelling enough for me, because there's so many out there and you haven't given me a reason why this one will be different from the rest.
Before I Lose You
Seems like a typical friends to lovers story, but the girl isn't all that interested in the guy. I think the lead character is the man, because the female is being mysterious. It doesn't really distinguish itself from other romance stories so far. I find it unrealistic that the guy's friends have never met her, since he's supposedly known her for 15 years. Even if he actively prevented it, it seems shady and still not possible, especially if they're just walking around the city or meeting up near his house. Art is super average for a webtoon.
Friends at First
This webtoon escalated too quickly, with both guys confessing to each other in the second chapter, which is not romantic at all. According to the summary, he's supposed to get isekai'd soon so please do that, because this current story is boring as heck. Also the male lead is a total horndog, which I don't find relatable nor endearing for a character. I don't even know why they were drawing the number 5 on people's bodies, why aren't they just wearing track and field uniforms like everyone else? Art is average, nothing noteworthy about it.
A Concubine's Daughter and Her Tactics
The female lead, 11th Miss, is not stupid, but she's not villainous enough to steal the spotlight, at least at this point. She's just lying low, and biding her time to see if she can find a better life for herself. Having so many siblings, it's not likely she'll ever be favored by her father. I'm not sure if her birth mother is still alive. I'm curious to see how she'll grow as a character. I appreciate the family tree at the end, that's a good reference to who is who, thank you author! The art is pretty good for this webtoon.
Evolution Webtoon
Boohoo, I wanted to know what was in the box! It's too bad this was dropped, I see the raws have almost 100 chapters. The art is simplistic but effective to communicate a sense of foreboding. The glasses wearing male character is a complete jerk, and I won't be surprised if he opened the box and died in the end. I wish this would get picked up by someone.
Nam Goong Sae Ga Prince
Way too much crap happens in the first chapter, which is divided into two parts. In the first half, he returns home, which seems innocent enough. But oh my god, you'd never guess that he returned from some weird world that has two moons and time flows differently, where he actually spent 15 years and befriended a prince and so much other stuff which is just dumped on readers in the second half. He comes back and he looks like he hasn't gone through all that at all, so I'm not buying his fantastical story. Even his appearance hasn't changed a bit. Shouldn't he look older if he spent 15 years in real time, or is this some magic BS? And he could return to his original world at will? Because it took a mysterious explosion to get him to the world with two moons in the first place. Nothing makes sense so far. The art is average for a webtoon. Maybe this will get better as more chapters are released to explain his experiences, but so far I'm not buying what you're selling.
Amazing Rumor
I didn't understand what was going on in the first chapter of this webtoon. The kid who lost his parents is wandering around with his friends, and then it switches to a guy chasing after a man, but ends up with his head cut off. The translation got really weird at that point, with people talking about territory and all sorts of weird panicky stuff when they found his body. I don't know if it was a bad translation or if it was the original Korean which made no sense that affected the English lines. Hopefully the next chapter will make more sense. The art is not bad, but still pretty average for a shounen webtoon. Update: Second chapter doesn't really make much sense either, still talking about territory and counters, and the male lead has a dream about an old lady, then he meets some bullies. What is this storytelling? It doesn't stop to explain anything, and assumes the reader can follow it. Too fast-paced and fails to set up an understandable plot right from the beginning.
21st Century Journey to the West
So good! I really want this to be continued! All the character designs are on point with the Journey to the West characters. I love how it's basically following the original story line, especially with the tiger. Please update!
Exceed 1
Mediocre BL, with zero character introduction, just jumping straight to sex in probably the next chapter. It's pretty obvious where this is going. The male lead is going to be the sex slave of the king of the country that conquered his. It's an overused and common plotline, and although it could potentially be interesting, just from the execution in the first chapter alone, I can tell it's not going to be a detailed nor an engaging story. There's no set up, and I don't care why the male lead is being captured, etc. since there's zero emotional weight given. Also, what is it with webtoons and coming up with the longest ass names for their characters? There's no way they expect readers to memorize such ridiculous crap, when most of the time, all their characters look similar and we can't even tell who is who. The art is shockingly below average, using extremely simple colors and line work. But maybe the author will prove me wrong. So far, not impressed. Update: What the heck? He escaped the abusive king and ends up sleeping with the same guy but is completely different looking? That makes no sense whatsoever. What is the author tripping on? Update 2: Okay, so this was dropped by the artist. I don't blame them. The story made no sense whatsoever, and the pacing was out of whack. Just skip this trash.
