Really cool! I loved it! I really loved reading the first story "Stigmata - Seikon Sous" and then reading this (the sequel) right after. It was really cool to see the evolution of the characters and the story! Loved everything about this!!!

Biting the Tiger

Complete | Mindal Park | 2000 released

YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH BAAAABBBBYYYYYY!!!!!! Oh my god! This was so cute! So adorable!~!~!~! Really soft! I cried and laughed and constantly thought about how beautiful the art was! WOW so PRETTY! This was such a fun read! Be aware that (in my opinion) this falls squarely in the shounen-ai category, I'm actually not sure why it has a yaoi tag. This story focuses on their emotional relationship, there are some moments when they kiss but nothing other than that is shown in the main story. The extras/side stories show more of their physical relationship. This is not a bad this but if just so you know ahead of time if you were curious!

The Beast Must Die

Complete | Lee hyeon sook | 2019 released

Fascinating, disturbing, and deeply sensual, this story explores violence and the human condition in a way I have never seen before in the BL genre. The artwork is breathtaking and the sex scenes are incredibly intense. But the thing that sets this BL apart is the character development and the way the story unfolds. In every chapter new information is presented that alters your perspective of what came before. Simply Thrilling, you won't be able to look away! ***Spoilers thoughts*** I felt that the most valuable asset to this story was in some ways also its Achilles heel. (last chance spoilers ahead) That would be Kang Moo being a criminal psychopath, while psychopathy is a spectrum it is communicated that Kang Moo has "no emotions." In many ways this is the story's most invaluable asset because when characters do not act on their emotions it is impossible for the audience to anticipate their actions, thus making the story incredibly intriguing. However, despite the murder and intrigue at the heart of The Beast Must Die is a "romance" between Kang Moo and Lee Kirin. We are shown on several occasions that Lee Kirin is deeply emotionally attached to Kang Moo. But Kang Moo states that he is a psychopath and has no emotions, any time he shows concern it is him displaying his "learned behavior." This is where things began to get vague for me. It was hard to truly enjoy their relationship when Lee Kirin clearly wants to be with him and loves Kang Moo, while Kang Moo is not able to feel anything. But there have been several examples throughout the story of Kang Moo acting in ways that were not logical or would not benefit him purely because Lee Kirin was involved. So here's the rub, we are asked to accept that Kang Moo feels nothing for Lee Kirin but also that he will make choices based on emotional responses to Lee Kirin. I loved this story and it will forever be on my top 10. However, I wish that their relationship was not left so ambiguous. It is clear that they are going to be together for the rest of their lives, and I'm not saying that the author should have included an "I love you" moment between the two of them because that just wouldn't have fit. But I feel that there should have been a clear moment when Kang moo communicated to Lee Kirin that he favored him in some emotional way, and for Lee Kirin to accept those feeling and reciprocate. These are of course my own thoughts and opinions in any case I loved it! Thank you to the author!

Very good storytelling, well-executed plot, and likable characters. I wish certain aspects of the relationship were shown more (see *spoiler* section below.) When I read this the first time around 5 years ago. I was new to the BL genre and I didn't really understand what was going on so I was often confused. But this time around I really understood everything and could appreciate how well done the plot was. The drawing style is beautiful! Most importantly the world-building is very unique and I would recommend it just for that alone! ***Spoilers*** The part that wasn't my favorite: For the people who want to read this for the BDSM relationship be warned! They only show this relationship for the first 27 chapters. (There are 61 chapters total) **There is nothing wrong with that** But just so you know, their relationship starts out very sexual and when they "play" there are toys and an atmosphere that caters to the BDSM crowd. But after chapter 27 whenever the two have sex it is much more vanilla. **Again nothing wrong with that** However, I will admit I was a bit disappointed. I would have liked the series to be a bit longer and to have had more scenes showing their relationship (especially BDSM scenes) because having a BDSM vampire BL is so incredibly rare and interesting I just wish we had more of it! But either way, if you haven't read this yet it is defiantly worth your time!

Spinel(baekji)

Complete | baekji | 2000 released

This was so beautiful to look at! The art is so breathtaking! I loved their relationship and that they came from different cultures. I wish that it had been a bit longer with a few more ideas fleshed out and discussed. But overall I am very happy with how this ended. 5 stars!

This is so odd. But I really liked it. I wish that it was a bit longer and went into more detail about the world they live in because it's interesting and I'm curious but I really enjoyed it.
