Wow this story paints an untraditional "family", connected by love and not blood. Younger seme is "papa" to a little girl whose bio parents have both passed away. Her bio dad was a one-night stand client when the young seme was selling himself to pay for his late mother's medical bills, turns out, the man had little time left himself due to cancer. Older uke is gay and has always regretted his orientation because he wants to give his old mother a "real" family. She does not mind though, because they are not related by blood either, this is just personal pressure that the uke puts on himself. They basically come together to form a family of two men, a kid, and an old mother.

Starts with the Seme’s ancestor (look alike) who was in love with a male priest (?) since there was a mention of a divine shrine where they met. The man fell ill, and the priest made a deal against fate and god’s will to extend his life, in exchange for his own life and being further punished when the shrine was struck and burned down by lightning. The man fell in despair and tried to cope with the loss by painting the priest in a scroll, which came to life and took the original’s name and appearance. The man died and the scroll was passed down to members of his family, until the MC appears a few generations later. Basically it’s not a reincarnation story. The original lovers have both passed, the MC is the descendant and the uke is the image/memory/love from the scroll that came to life.

Unexpectedly cute, though we only have one tiny extra story of the Seme actually being genuinely sweet. Otherwise he acts like a completely cold bastard, though he doesn’t do anything necessarily bad
