Ousama To Fushigi No Shiro
Story about a girl that will do and endure ANYTHING in order to be with the one she loves s, even if said person is a cold tyrant with a chocolate addiction. I kind of wish that the conclusion had been more elaborate, they took 3 chapters to build up the settings, and less than half of one to wrap things up.
Guomin Laogong Dai Huijia
Man, what a roller-coaster... Story aside, there are repeated chapters and there's many that aren't even in order, there might even be some missing chapters too, if it wasn't for that I'd rate this 5* haha But talking about the story is another roller-coaster in itself. So many misunderstandings, if only they had talked things through clearly from the start, they would've saved themselves so much heartache... I'm happy that they finally got to come clean and we could see them both being the loving partners they both wished to be from the start.
Anata no Tame nara doko Made mo
I really love the mangaka's sense of humour. There were two main stories: Starting with the second story, a couple of high school friends realise they get along even better than expected. The first story actually is split up into two substories, the main one is set in present day where there's a police detective that's going after a marriage swindler that seems to have grown fond of the detective. The second substory is the "same" two guys, but perhaps a previous incarnation/past life/ancestor/whatever, same names different occupations but they do pretty much the same work. This time instead of chasing the liar-dude, the lawful-dude just ends up the butt of the joke in all of the liar-dude's "jobs". I'm not really fond of male pregnancy really, and the human-animal thing was borderline... but the "star sons" chapter was too fucked up for my taste.
Tetsudou Shoujo
Highschool girl helps a woman find her ex's belongings in a train station. //Also, that kouhai was fkn cute ...I absolutely adore this mangaka's art style. Everyone's so beauuuutiful
Tenkousei (nakamura Asumiko)
Boy with a somewhat troubled past transfers schools, there with the help from his classmate sitting next to him, he seems to be slowly getting over his issues.
Le théâtre de B
I love, love the mangaka's art style, it's beyond beautiful. And I really like the use of colours on some stories, it really complements them well. There were SO many stories... Some of them kind of sweet, others a bit dark, some were pretty sad actually, and there were a few that just were a bit too confusing for me. Still, even despite that, it's a definitive 4/5 volume.
2 Shuukan No Adventure
First chapter is part one of a 3-part story, I'm not sure why the rest wasn't uploaded. I really don't want to pass too harsh judgement on that first chapter without reading the rest of the story, but it really is a bit too "troubled" for me The other chapters belong as a "side story" to another series. It goes like this: 1) Barairo no Hoo no Koro 2) J no Subete Vol.1 3) 2 Shuukan no Adventure 4) J no Subete Vol.2-3 Man... what a rollercoaster of emotions, I feel sooo bad for how much so many of them had to go through. I'm quite fortunate to have been alive in this time, when issues true equality is able to be fought for a bit more openly than back then (we still have a long way to go, but we've definitely gone a long way since those years). This series definitely is worth reading, it touches on several topics that are still quite relevant today and really makes you see how much the characters suffered throughout their lives, not just by other people's hands but by their own "demons" as well. For this particular section of the series, I feel bad mostly for Gerry than Eugene (or even his wife). We don't really get to understand Eugene's real reasons behind his betrayal back in school, we don't even know if his claim that Gerry was "becoming scary" was even true or not, so in this regard I kind of side in Gerry's position and well.. he probably felt very hurt and confused by Eugene's actions, he obviously still loved him even after he did that to him, but decided to give him space, to honour his supposed wishes. After all that, he comes back to his hometown(-ish?) and does a good job as a doctor there. It was Eugene who didn't give a flying fuck at the fact that he got his wife pregnant (yeah, it wasn't a marriage for love, but he still played his dutiful role as a husband? Or yeah, he could hate her for it, but it was still his OWN child!!!), I feel bad that Gerry was caught between those two spurned "lovers". Everyone's happy at the last chapter, but do we really know for sure how long ago that letter was sent... I can't help but feel a bit cynical about how things sort of concluded for Gerry, Eugene, and his wife.
J no Subete
All the stories go like this: 1) Barairo no Hoo no Koro 2) J no Subete Vol.1 3) 2 Shuukan no Adventure 4) J no Subete Vol.2-3 Man... what a rollercoaster of emotions, I feel sooo bad for how much so many of them had to go through. For this particular section of the series, before reading this I _really_ didn't like J, not one bit. I saw him just as "that little brat that got in the way of Paul and Andrew", but now it's like... this poor kid had so, so many horrible things happen, lived such a pained life, grew up with no self-worth whatsoever because all everyone else saw him with was disdain. I'm sure that there's still a lot I can't really understand about J's circusmtances, I don't know if there was a real desire to be a woman and not just a crossdresser; in either case really, I'm pretty certain that there's a lot of nuances that went over my head or if even J's situation was really an appropriate portrayal of someone in that position, I don't know. I don't have anyone close to me that is going through anything even remotely similar, but if there were, I wish I could do something for them.
